Annoying few days of home internet access outage means the Libre.fm blog post for today is delayed 24 hours.
But some numbers:
304,088,971 listens (226,085 increase)
374,582 users (welcome to all 239 new users)
In case you prefer a more #indieweb experience, I also post everything on my own site first: https://dreamindani.com/posts/bookmark-beat-ep23 - now newly updated to Svelte 5 āØ
Any good media hosting servers anyone can recommend? I am particularly concerned about storage and longevity. I know there's lots of options, just not sure which are best/recommended.
I've been customizing my Bear Blog which has been fun, but the media hosting only allows for .webp images and small file sizes. (I tried uploading a Mastodon .png to link to my profile in the footer, and it did not turn out great lol)
Ideally, I would also like to eventually embed videos of me speedpainting, etc.
I really like personal homepages and have quite a list of them bookmarked. I'll post one every week unless I fall behind this schedule. š So here's Cool Personal Homepages #CPH Vol. 29: "Lewis.org" https://www.lewis.org/
Participating in only my second #IndieWebCarnival, here's my contribution to @xandra's month "on impact".
Be warned, it isn't pretty.

Itād be best to publish your work in some evergreen space where you control the domain and URL. Then publish on masto-sky-formerly-known-as-linked-don and any place you share and comment on.
You donāt have to change the world with every post. You might publish a quick thought or two that helps encourage someone else to try something new, listen to a new song, or binge-watch a new series.
Also, developers:
Write and publish before you write your own static site generator or perfect blogging platform. We have lost billions of good writers to this side quest because they spend all their time working on the platform instead of writing.
Designers, the same advice applies to you: write first, come up with that perfect design later.
š Highlighting Text in Links with Text Fragments
Iāve used URL text fragments in a few posts now and often use it outside of this blog to point someone to a particular piece of text on a page. Theyāre a really useful feature that allows you to create a URL that links not just to a page or an anchor on that page, but specifically to a bit of...

@samwilson re: https://samwilson.id.au/Replying_to_blog_posts Always glad to evangelize #webmention. Did you end up adding them?

Hi Austin! Reminder weāre resuming the IndieWeb Meetup. This coming Wednesday, Nov 6th, the day after the election, 7pm, Mozartās Coffee.
New (little) review! I enjoyed MURDER BY NUMBERS, a bunch of #nonogram puzzles with some narrative tying them all together. The writing was way better than you'd expect from a game of this size though!
@adam_chal @janriemer Bluesky is built around the concept of users hosting their own data, which is more similar to the #IndieWeb than to Mastodon ā Mastodon is focused on being a monolithic multi user social web server that federates with likeminded
I think there are lots to learn from how Bluesky and the IndieWeb puts the user at center, not the server
