Utah Tech University Human Performance Center
Completed in 2019, the Utah Tech University Human Performance Center is an award-winning hub for students and faculty focused on fitness. It is equipped to host local, regional, and state high school games, swim meets, Huntsman World Senior Games competitions, and community-sponsored sporting events.
Layton Construction led the project, which provides a street-visible 50m Olympic-sized swimming pool, 750-seat spectator balcony, diving tank, and heated spa. Additionally, the 65ft indoor climbing wall and accompanying boulder wall give insight to the endless activity options that lie inside the beautiful facility. The Layton team designed and constructed with a high-performance exterior envelope, HVAC heat recovery, and waterwise landscape.
The state-of-the-art facility includes a full-rooftop recreation level that sports a running track, inclined sprint track known as “Will Hill,” and outdoor athletic courts. Additional amenities include fitness balconies, gathering spaces, and a support lounge. Inside, the facility offers even more, including a full-service, two-story fitness center, nutrition bar, lounge, and multi-purpose athletic courts.
