Packers quarterback Malik Willis had to call audible due to Josh Myers vomiting on football

Malik Willis was thrust into the Green Bay Packers' starting quarterback role Sunday due to a knee injury to Jordan Love.

Acquired in late August, he didn't exactly have a lot of time to learn the offense.

But regardless of when Willis joined the team, nothing could have prepped him for what happened in the second quarter on a 3rd and 10 play in the Packers' home opener against the Indianapolis Colts.

According to head coach Matt LaFleur, Willis was apparently supposed to throw the ball, but he called his own number.

The audible wasn't because of the defense. It was due to unexpected kind of pre-snap motion.

His center Josh Myers vomited on the football.

“I asked Malik why he didn’t throw it on that third down and he told me Josh threw up on the ball,” LaFleur said.

That's thinking on your feet.

Willis finished 12 of 14 for 122 yards and a touchdown in the Packers' 16-10 victory over the Colts.
