LHSAA high school football playoffs second round live updates for Acadiana teams
A full complement of high school football in Acadiana will see action in the second round of the LHSAA playoffs Friday night.
Eight teams, including St. Thomas More, Acadiana, Lafayette Christian, Teurlings Catholic, Vermilion Catholic and a few others had a first-round bye last week.
Seven local teams were eliminated during the first round, leaving 21 with their dreams of playing for a state championship still alive.
Headlining a second round showdown this week is in Select Division I where District 3-5A rivals No. 9 Carencro (9-2) plays at No. 8 Acadiana (8-2) at Bill Dotson Stadium. These two teams linked up a couple of weeks ago and the homestanding Wreckin' Rams held on for the 27-26 victory.
Expect another close game between Carencro and Acadiana.
