Biography
Suzanne C Ho is Emeritus Professor of Public Health, and Founding Director of the Centre of Research and Promotion of Women’s Health of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Head of Epidemiology Division from 2007-2009, Professor Ho is also the Founding Director of the Postgraduate Programmes of Epidemiology and Biostatistics and served as Programme Director from 1990 to 2010.
Professor Ho’s major research interests are in women’s health (particularly mid-life women), nutritional epidemiology, aging, and breast cancer. She has obtained many competitive grants from the government as well as international research funds for studies in the above-mentioned areas. Her publications have totaled 21 books/book chapters, and over 263 scientific publications in refereed journals. In addition, Professor Ho is actively involved in and has contributed to over 66 publications from Multi-center Studies. She has served as the Principal Supervisor of 13 PhD candidates and over 65 MPhil/MPH/MSc students and External Examiner of over 20 Mphil/PhD candidates.

Osteoporosis – bone mass and bone loss in different age groups and their determinants

Breast cancer – predictors of breast cancer survival, diet and breast cancer risks and survival, behavioral changes among breast cancer survivors.

Nutritional epidemiology – nutritional intake in population groups, dietary intake and effects on health, particularly chronic diseases

Aging – epidemiology of aging, morbidity outcomes, and longitudinal study on mortality
