Mafia III is an open world third-person action-adventure video game. It was developed by Hangar 13. It was published by 2K Games. It was announced on July 29, 2015. It was first shown at Gamescom on August 5, 2015. It was released on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 7, 2016.

The game is set in 1968 in the city of New Bordeaux (based off New Orleans, Louisiana, United States). The protagonist is Lincoln Clay, a black mixed race orphan and was in the Vietnam War and was a veteran, who is on a quest to get revenge on the Italian mob. Vito Scaletta, Mafia II protagonist, returns.[2]

On May 19, 2020 2K Games released Mafia III: Definitive Edition. Including Mafia: Trilogy Pack, when all 3 Mafia games in one package.
