Jan Hecker

Jan Hecker (15 February 1967 – 5 September 2021) was a German lawyer and politician. Hecker was an advisor to German Chancellor Angela Merkel. He was a judge at the Federal Administrative Court and an adjunct professor at the European University Viadrina. In late August 2021, Hecker became the Ambassador to the People's Republic of China.[1] Hecker was born in Kiel, West Germany.

Hecker died on 5 September 2021 in Beijing, China at the age of 54.[2]
