History
[change | change source]The Everus S1 was first presented as a concept car at the 2010 Guangzhou Auto Show.[4] The production version made its debut at the 2011 Shanghai Auto Show and went on sale in April 2011.[5] The car was based on the fourth-generation Honda City, which is a popular model in the compact sedan category. The Everus S1 came with a choice of two engines: a 1.3-liter i-DSi engine and a 1.5-liter VTEC L-series engine. Buyers could choose between a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automatic transmission.
In 2013, the Everus S1 received a facelift and was showcased at the Shanghai Auto Show.[6] Sales of the updated version began in May 2013.[7]
Markets
[change | change source]The Everus S1 was exclusively sold in China during its entire production period.
Discontinuation
[change | change source]the Everus S1 struggled in the market and did not achieve strong sales. The Production continued until 2016, after which the model was discontinued. The Everus S1 did not have a successor, and there were no plans to launch new products under the Everus brand at that time. The brand remained inactive for another two years before further developments.
