Siegel in 1976

Jerome "Jerry" Siegel (October 17, 1914 – January 28, 1996)[1] was an American comic book writer and artist. He is known for creating Superman. He won many awards and was honored many times for his creation.

Siegel was born on October 17, 1914 in Cleveland, Ohio to a Jewish family.[2] Siegel studied at Greenville High School. Siegel was married to Joanne Siegel from 1948 until his death in 1996. They had one daughter, Laura. Siegel died from unknown causes in Los Angeles, California, aged 81.[3]
