Last Saturday, our UWS STEM FEST was bustling with the spirit of inquisitivity and good vibes! 😍 We’re proud to share that we had close to 800 participants join us, with over 300 young women filling the rooms of our 8 STEM Workshops and receiving mentorship from our 78 speed mentors from our corporate partners. There were over 200 corporate and university partners at our 18 interactive booths and workshops who had spent the afternoon generously #STEMpowering not only these young women, but also over 100 parents, teachers and public who dropped by! 💪 Ms Sun Xueling, Minister of State, Ministry of Home Affairs & Ministry of Social and Family Development graced our festival with an intimate engagement with students from our STEM Programmes. To kick off the afternoon of discovery, Ms Sun shared an insightful keynote speech, highlighting the ways in which the Singapore government works towards achieving gender equality. With her encouraging and exuberant spirit, she wished our students well: “To the young innovators here today, I encourage you to seize every opportunity, embrace your curiosity, and never stop learning. The future is yours to create!” 💭 UWS STEM Fest would not have been a success without all the support from our partners, educators, and the public! 🙌 Shout-out to our Venue Partner Marina Bay Sands for hosting us to incubate new STEM beginnings with us!

Thank you everyone who visited and showed your support to the wider community of "doing good"!

The Same Same Festival. What does the future of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) look like, and how they could play a part on individual and corporation success? On Saturday, we are very proud to host the first ever widely diversified "do good" festival in Singapore, where we have an array of social causes coming to share their stories and initiatives. It’s our pleasure to have Michelle to give an opening speech, Kitson and Renee to share their perspectives on the topic of The Future of CSR and ESG with their 3P (people, public and private) lens and experience. Thoughts on “the x-factor” shared by Renee: Empathy is often overlooked, it is often said than done as it has to be practise and exercise consciously, in fact it is THE soft skill that many world class leaders talk about in their interviews these days! Thoughts on “being purposeful” shared by Kitson: In entrepreneurship, we call it the North Star, or sometimes the “why”. The intent of “doing good” and 3P partnership has to be clear and consistent, as the visions aligned, success will follow through. The festival also marks the end of the 4-months programme (Different But Same Same), where we explored and exposed youths to various social cause (kindness, healthy living, cyber wellness, gender equality, disability inclusion, sustainable living, racial & religious harmony) with the support of our partners. It’s very eye opening and fresh to learn new perspectives and knowledge from our guests speakers, the subject matter experts as well as our participants. Through highs and lows in the programme, we have learnt a lot and we promise to bring you a much improved iteration the next season! This is not the end of our initiative, in fact it is the beginning of building a greater and truly inclusive community of “doing good”. Collective we want to empower and influence individuals and organisations to join us to create measurable and sustainable impact to the world. It is often overlooked, but we all social organisations and even individuals actually do have a shared vision! On the surface, we might be different but deep inside us we are the same, we all want the world to be a better, kinder and more inclusive place for everyone. We go beyond echo chamber dialogue, reach out to us at [email protected] if you’re keen to work with us for the next iteration of the Different But Same Same programme, to build empathy and/or social emotional wellbeing in your organisation! Today is Women’s Equality Day! 💜 But what does that really mean? Swipe to get a glimpse of what #GenderEquality currently looks like in today’s Singapore. While Singapore has made strides toward gender equality, challenges remain and there’s still work to be done. Gender equality isn't just about the numbers —it's about creating a culture of equality, including women empowerment and positive masculinity that starts at home and extends to every corner of our community. 🚀 At United Women Singapore, we’re committed to championing equal opportunities, positive masculinity and allyship, and a culture that values women’s contributions across all industries, especially in STEM. The journey to equality requires all of us to take action. We need to shift perceptions, break down barriers, and ensure that both women and men are empowered to advocate for change. 💬 Let’s create a world where everyone can thrive, regardless of gender. Update: We apologise for the typo error on slide 2, it should read: "We are 8th in the world for having a low level of gender *inequality*." #WomensEqualityDay #UWSCares #GenderEqualitySG #WomenInSTEM #BreakTheBias #UpliftWomen #STEMpowering

Here at UWS, our work shares a similar mission with GGS. That being: enabling girls and young women to develop their fullest potential as responsible citizens of the world. Thus, we are proud to announce that we were awarded the Thanks Plaque in recognition of our collaboration and efforts over the past year to bring STEM to girls from the formative years of primary school and up! Looking forward to more #STEMPowering activities with GGS! Thank you Girl Guides Singapore for sharing the platform for us to reach and impact our girls and women of tomorrow! #STEMEducation #Girls2Pioneers #WomenEmpowerment
