Our Members had an incredible time at the Singapore Tennis Association (STA) Tennis Social on Saturday, August 24, in preparation for the upcoming STA Inter-Club Doubles League. Running from September 12 – October 27, 2024, this league will see our talented players competing in both home and away games. Meet Chef Craig, the new Head of Culinary at The American Club 👨🍳. Chef Craig is a Californian culinary talent with nearly two decades of experience. From his beginnings as a home cook to his adventures as a traveling musician, Chef Craig has drawn inspiration from diverse cultures and flavors. Trained at Le Cordon Bleu and mentored by acclaimed chefs, he now brings his creative flair and passion for innovation to the Club. Congratulations to our Junior Member, Shiv Kaul! This past June, Shiv made us all proud by reaching the quarterfinals in the U-15 category at the 31st Asian Junior Individual Championships, held in Islamabad, Pakistan. Representing Singapore, Shiv’s outstanding performance highlights his exceptional talent and is a testament to his dedication and the guidance of his coaches, Tim Arnold and Elvinn Keo, from Ignite Squash at The American Club.

Meet Shah, our Retail Associate at Essentials, who joined the Club in March 2024 through his school’s Work-Study Diploma Program. Shah is responsible for keeping Essentials well-stocked, managing Members’ laundry items, and ensuring all shopping needs are met. With his bubbly and outgoing personality, Shah thrives on interacting with Members and working alongside his teammates. Shah's strong camaraderie with his Team Members and passion for dancing inspired him to choreograph a performance piece for the recent Team Members Dinner & Dance. He also participated in the talent show, where his dance performance earned him third place. Beyond his work and dancing, Shah enjoys café hopping, binge-watching Netflix, and exploring the world through travel.  

The Club celebrated Singapore’s birthday on August 9 with a vibrant array of activities for all ages 🇸🇬🎉. Members enjoyed traditional Singaporean games such as Mahjong Bingo, Pick-up Sticks, Chapteh Challenge, and Hopscotch, alongside complimentary treats like Teh Tarik, old-school biscuits, and Tutu Kueh, making it a fun-filled day for the entire family.

On Wednesday, July 31, Members immersed themselves in a wondrous journey filled with a vernacular of images that dazzle, perplex, and represent a kaleidoscope of visual experiences at the launch of our latest art exhibition, Blending Cultures by ARTitude Galería🖼️.

Last week, our campers embarked on an exciting trip to the Singapore Zoo as part of the 2024 Eagle Explorers Summer Camp 🦧🦒. They enjoyed an engaging performance by a clever sea lion, highlighting the importance of keeping our oceans clean, and had the opportunity to get up close with exotic reptiles at the Reptopia exhibition 🦭🐊. Overall, it was a fun and educational experience for all. Until the next adventure 🏕️!
