About us

Starbucks operations in Singapore is fully licensed to Maxim's Caterers Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong and a leading restaurant operator of multiple brands across Asia. The first Starbucks store opened on 14 December 1996 at Liat Towers, strategically located along the nation's renowned Orchard Road shopping belt. Starbucks coffee houses offer more than the finest coffee sourced from across the globe. Friendly people, great music and a comfortable upbeat meeting place create the famous Starbucks Experience. The layout and atmosphere of Starbucks stores is specifically designed to be cosy and intimate, while at the same time providing people with their own personal space to use as they wish. The combination of sofas, armchairs, coffee tables and chairs, bars and stools, and meeting room tables means that there is something for everyone. Those looking for peace and quiet away from home or the office can relax and linger in a comfortable armchair and escape into a book, whilst those looking for an intimate place to meet friends can huddle on a sofa and chat over a mug of coffee, as they would in their own home.

Where It All Began : The Starbucks Singapore Story ☕️ As we raise our cups to celebrate Singapore's birthday this August, let's take a moment to sip on some nostalgia and retrace our own journey! Our First Brew in the Little Red Dot 🎉 In 1996, we poured our first cup of coffee at Starbucks Liat Towers on Orchard Road. Little did we know, we were brewing up a storm that would sweep across the island! Fast Forward to Today ⏩ - 28 years of caffeinating the nation - 150 stores dotting the island - Over 2,000 passionate partners (that's Starbucks-speak for our awesome employees!) Liat Towers: The Inaugural Pour 🏢 Our OG (Original Grounds 😉) store has been serving up smiles and coffee since day one. We gave it a glow-up, including a showstopping 100-cup art display, each one decorated by our talented baristas across Singapore! Voices from the Heart ❤️ Yan Zhen, one of our first baristas there, reminisces: "It was always busy, but I loved it! My fellow partners made me feel valued, and I learned so much about impactful customer service. It means even more now that I'm in a leadership role." June Li Ng, another alumni of Liat Towers, shares with a twinkle in her eye: "The store's vibes and energy were simply amazing! From the leadership team dropping by to say 'hello', the store managers ensuring we were well-taken care of, to our superb regulars whose drinks we'd start prepping the moment we spotted them!" As we continue to write our story, cup by cup, we're grateful for every partner and customer who's been part of this incredible journey. Here's to many more years of creating that unique Starbucks Experience, Singapore style! 🎊 #StarbucksSingapore #SingaporeCoffeeJourney #28YearsStrong

Brewing Passions, One Cup at a Time ☕ At Starbucks Singapore, we’re not just about serving coffee—we’re about fueling the passions of our partners (employees) who share our love for coffee💚. That’s how the Store Coffee Master program came about, a journey for those eager to immerse themselves in the art of coffee.   Through this program, our partners get to explore every aspect of coffee. They dive into different brewing methods, experience the distinct flavors of our Blonde, Medium, and Dark roasts, and learn about the Coffee Belt—🌱the regions where the world’s best coffee is grown. They get to showcase their artistic flair by crafting intricate designs of latte art, transforming simple beverages into visual masterpieces.   The grand finale? Our budding coffee masters picks their choice of beans and wows the leadership team with their coffee wisdom of the history, growing region, processing methods, tasting notes, and complimentary flavors of the selected coffee. The aspiring store coffee master also shares how they are going to grow the coffee culture in their community💚. Once done, the partner receives the coveted black apron, a symbol of their expertise and passion.   We’re proud to provide a platform for our partners to grow and can’t wait to see the amazing experiences our Store Coffee Masters will create!   #StarbucksSingapore #CoffeeMasters #PassionForCoffee #PartnerGrowth

Meet Our Champions   At Starbucks Singapore, we’re incredibly proud of the passion and talent our partners (employees) bring to the table—or should we say, to the cup! Recently, at our media event, our champions from the Starbucks Regional Barista Championships and the Singapore National Cup Taster Championship stepped into the spotlight.   Yi Xin, this year’s Singapore National Cup Taster Champion, and Qi Wei, the 1st Runner-up in the Starbucks Regional Latte Art competition, led one-on-one sessions where they shared their expertise in latte art, guiding participants through the delicate craft of creating beautiful designs in every cup.   Our champions also showcased their signature drinks—like Rabia’s Pandan Fantasy, a delightful blend of local flavors, and Shree’s Sweet Nostalgia, a drink that captures the warmth of cherished memories.   Each of these talented partners has their own unique journey and style, and we’re thrilled to celebrate their achievements. Their dedication to the craft of coffee inspires us all, and we’re excited to see how they continue to elevate the Starbucks Experience for everyone.   #StarbucksSingapore #MeetOurChampions #BaristaChampionships #LatteArt #CoffeeCraft

Ever wondered how coffee beans get processed?   When choosing which beans you take home with you, you might come across details about the bag of beans you’re holding in your hand. One of these details is the processing method of the coffee.    At Starbucks, our beans go through four main coffee processing methods: Natural, Washed, Semi-Washed, and Honey.    🌱Natural: Beans are dried inside the cherry, resulting in a sweet, fruity flavor profile with a full body. Though slightly less common, one example of this processing method being used is in our Limited-Time Offering Sun-Dried Brazil Carmo De Minas beans. 💧Washed: The cherry is removed before drying, producing a clean, bright flavor with a crisp acidity that can be found in our Starbucks Colombia Beans. 🌾Semi-Washed: A middle ground between Natural and Washed, this method yields a balanced flavor with mild fruitiness and gentle acidity. You can taste this in our Starbucks Sumatra Beans.  🍯Honey: Part of the cherry pulp is left on during drying, creating a rich, smooth flavor with subtle sweetness. Honey-processed beans are a rare sight, much like our Starbucks Reserve, Costa Rica Honey Process beans. So when you happen to chance upon us offering honey-processed beans, make sure to grab a bag!   Each method is used to bring out the best in the beans, depending on the region, climate, and desired flavor profile. This variety allows us to offer a diverse range of coffee experiences, from bold and vibrant to smooth and sweet.    Next time you take home a bag of beans, take the time to find out which processing method the beans went through, it’ll give you a clue as to what the cup of coffee you’ll be drinking tastes like!    #StarbucksSingapore #CoffeeProcessing #FlavorProfiles #CoffeeKnowledge

🌟 Celebrating Inclusion and Growth at Starbucks! 🌟   We recently had the privilege of hosting Ryan, a student from Metta School for his work attachment at Starbucks Century Square. To give him a real-world experience went through a mock interview and spent 2 weeks with our team at Starbucks Century Square. We loved Ryan’s warm and positive energy – it certainly highlights how every individual can contribute meaningfully when given the opportunity to shine.   To mark the end of his experience, Ryan and our Store Manager even surprised each another with heartfelt gifts.   We're proud to support Ryan and foster an environment where everyone feels safe, included and valued.    #StarbucksSingapore #Belonging #MettaSchool #Inclusion

Meet The Champions! This summer, we're introducing an innovative and exciting new series of espresso beverages created in partnership with the winning baristas of the 2023 Regional Barista Championship! This annual event brings together partners from across Asia Pacific to showcase their exceptional knowledge and shared commitment to the art of coffee craft. Over 3,200 partners competed for the title of Champion. 2023 winner was Allen Tai from Starbucks Taiwan. His extraordinary Tango-inspired beverage wowed the judges with its unique combination of quick-extraction ristretto and slow-steeped cold brew, techniques that evoke the quick-slow rhythm of the vibrant Latin dance. He was joined on the winner's podium by Rabia Adawiyah from Starbucks Singapore, who won second place with her dessert-inspired Pandan Fantasy beverage.   To celebrate their remarkable achievements, we’re bringing their winning beverages to our regional pipeline and shining a light on their regional barista championship journey with a series of videos on social media. Customers can experience these innovative beverages while learning all about the inspiration, craft, and passion that fueled their creation. So this summer, we invite you to Meet The Champions!
