We are proud to co-develop Singapore’s first Emissions Factors Registry in partnership with Singapore Business Federation, A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research and PwC Singapore. The Singapore Emission Factors Registry is a groundbreaking initiative that curates and aggregates emission factors into a single source. It will also in the future develop and expand the suite of emissions factors, helping Singapore-based businesses calculate greenhouse gas emissions more easily. As more companies adopt and utilise this local registry, it will also enhance our accounting and reporting for Scope 3 as we can present a more accurate picture for indirect emissions.   Aileen Tan, Singtel's Group Chief People and Sustainability Officer, said, "We believe a collaborative approach is needed for the business community to tackle the complexities of measuring and reporting carbon emissions and achieve more precise climate-related disclosures. We are glad to jointly establish the Singapore Emissions Factors Registry with SBF and share what we have learned from our own experiences with other companies to further emissions accounting. With Scope 3 reporting expected to rapidly evolve, we have also pledged a S$1 million donation to SBF Foundation’s Corporate Purpose Initiative over the next five years to drive projects like the registry which will lead to more informed decision-making and action to advance decarbonisation and Singapore's net-zero transition.”   The Singapore Emission Factors Registry is free to use and can be accessed here: https://www.netzerohub.sg   In line with our net zero 2045 goals, we’ve been progressively incorporating enhancements to every aspect of our business such as decarbonising our operations through electrification as well as transitioning to renewable energy and low-carbon or carbon-free alternatives. Let’s work together to build a more sustainable future!   #Singtel #Sustainability #EmpowerEveryGeneration #NetZero

We are delighted to share that our book, Voices from Comcentre, has officially been released! This page-turner chronicles Singtel’s journey since 1879, including the past 45 years that Comcentre has served as Singtel’s headquarters. A skyscraper in the heart of Orchard Road, Comcentre has become an iconic sight for generations of Singaporeans looking to have their connectivity needs met. It has been the site of many milestones – from being one of the first 1G base stations to being the place where we sold the first iPhone in Singapore. In Voices from Comcentre, you’ll uncover first-hand accounts from visionary pioneers of communication technology. “As Singtel celebrates its 145th anniversary, it is also timely to take stock of how far we’ve come and where we are headed. Comcentre has served as innovation central for decades and its redevelopment is a strategic move that will ensure Singtel continues to lead in the 5G era and beyond," said Mr Yuen Kuan Moon, Singtel Group CEO. “Besides commemorating the building, this book pays tribute to our employees who have made Singtel what it is today.” Ms Lian Pek, Singtel’s Vice President of Group Strategic Communications and Brand, and the book’s editor said, “For many, Comcentre had become a topography of their working lives, a repository of milestones, memory and meaning - an emotional space, in short. We sought to capture this emotional relationship between Comcentre and its occupants.” We are grateful to all who joined us for the launch of our new book and documentary film screening. It was a special occasion with our first chairman Frank Yung, as well as former CEO Wong Hung Khim and former GCEO Chua Sock Koong joining Chairman Lee Theng Kiat and Group Chief Executive Officer Yuen Kuan Moon. Voices from Comcentre will go on sale from today at our Singtel Shops in 313@somerset, Jurong Point and Tampines Mall for $25. All purchases will be equally matched by Singtel, with proceeds going to the Singtel Touching Lives Fund which supports the Community Chest and special education schools. #Singtel #EmpowerEveryGeneration #VoicesFromComcentre #Innovation

We’re turning 145 this weekend! Starting from a telephone exchange of just 50 lines in 1879, we’ve since grown into Southeast Asia’s largest telecoms group, reaching over 780 million mobile customers in 21 countries. In addition to consumer services, we offer next-generation connectivity, digital infrastructure and IT solutions to enterprises and organisations in the region. The past 145 years have been an incredible journey made possible by our customers, employees and partners. We’ve made it our purpose to Empower Every Generation – leveraging technology to shape a more sustainable future for all. It’s hard to capture everything we’ve done, but here’s a sneak peek of our book, Voices from Comcentre, it chronicles decades of reinvention, told through the eyes of those who lived it, including many long-serving Singtel staff members who have been with the company since Comcentre was founded in 1979. Happy to share that over 7,500 enthusiastic participants and volunteers joined us bright and early at East Coast Park this morning in support of the annual Singtel-Singapore Cancer Society Race Against Cancer - one of Singapore’s longest standing and largest charity runs.   Together, we raised almost $1.2 million for those impacted by cancer. Singtel also contributed $250,000 annually to support Singapore Cancer Society’s Help The Children and Youth (HCYP) programme, providing vital support like home tuition, school allowances, annual book prizes, youth camps, and family engagement activities for children and youth impacted by cancer.   Aileen Tan, Singtel’s Group Chief People and Sustainability Officer, said, “We’re committed to empowering vulnerable communities including those affected by cancer. As the title sponsor of Race Against Cancer since 2009, we have been actively raising funds to ensure that cancer patients and their families have access to essential treatment and care, as well as other forms of assistance like subsidies and screenings that can help them manage the disease and the impact to their lives. This event is not only a vital fundraising initiative, but a platform to foster awareness and demonstrate our solidarity with cancer patients and their families. We want them to know that no one should face this journey alone.”   Thank you to everyone who participated and supported this important cause! Scams are on the rise, impacting many, including migrant workers. To help Chinese migrant workers navigate online transactions safely, Singtel Dash, in partnership with Tenpay Global, recently ran an informal workshop on safe remittance practices and digital security. About 50 workers attended the session, where they received advice on recognising and avoiding common scams when sending money back to their loved ones in China. The Singapore Police Force also joined the session to educate the workers on scams and how they can increase their resilience against scams by taking preventive measures.    Gilbert Chuah, Head of Financial and Lifestyle Services at Singtel, added, “Our migrant workers work tirelessly and make tremendous sacrifices to send money back home. By using unauthorised platforms to remit their funds, they risk losing their hard-earned money which can be devastating for both the workers and their families. Singtel takes the digital transaction security of our migrant workers very seriously and has been helping them transact with confidence via our many outreach efforts. Beyond providing a secure and efficient platform for remittance, Dash, we want to ensure they have the knowledge and tools to be financially safe.”   Singtel Dash, together with its community partners have been running regular roadshows and engagement programmes such as these for the migrant worker community to learn about scams and how to make secure remittance transactions using the Dash app.    The event also doubled up as a celebration for the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, where familiar dishes were served to evoke a sense of home and for the workers to busk in the spirit of togetherness.    If you know someone who may have been impacted or needs advice on scams, they can visit scamalert.sg or call the National Crime Prevention Council’s Anti-Scam Helpline at 1800-722-6688. #SingtelDash #SafeRemittance #CommunitySupport #FinancialEducation #MigrantWorkers
