“There is a reason you don’t see paper, glass, or metal polluting our streets. It’s because the market has assigned a value to that material,” says Nanette Medved-Po, Founder of PCX Markets and PCX Solutions. “We need to do that for plastic.” At PCX, we believe that businesses have an incredible opportunity to help end plastic pollution. Through plastic credits, companies can take responsibility for their plastic footprint, help fund waste management infrastructure, and incentivize the collection of even low-value plastics that otherwise wind up in streets, rivers, and oceans in developing countries. Join us in our mission to accelerate the transition to a circular economy - and build a future where no plastic ends up in nature. About us
PCX is accelerating the transition to a circular economy and building a future where no plastic ends up in nature. The origin story of PCX begins as a non-profit in one of the epicenters of the plastic pollution crisis, the Philippines, with the mission to take responsibility for plastic waste. Today, there are two entities: The non-profit organization PCX Solutions was the first in the world to establish a fully transparent, third-party audited Plastic Pollution Reduction Standard to ensure the impact and responsibility of plastic waste projects. It works closely with organizations on the ground, the corporate sector to understand its plastic footprint and to establish ambitious reduction plans, and with governments and the wider ecosystem to boldly tackle the plastic issue both upstream and downstream. PCX Markets is the world's only fully transparent global marketplace for audited plastic waste reduction that provides seamless and traceable solutions to take responsibility for post-consumer plastics. It is addressing the plastic waste problem by activating an ecosystem of partners who collect, track, monetize, and repurpose plastic, verified through the power of blockchain technology while supporting communities on the ground with programs that improve livelihoods, scale up social impact, and reduce the flow of plastic pollution into nature.

♻️Monde Nissin Corporation is on a roll! The company behind your favorite noodles and crackers is serious about sustainability, bringing PCX Markets all the way to Cebu for an info session at its plant. PCX Markets Sustainability Lead Kathleen Ilagan talked about the plastic crisis and how Monde Nissin's compliance with the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Act helps advance a circular economy. The event was attended by members from the Cebu plant, led by Daniel Marcelo, Plant Head of Monde Nissin Mandaue Site, along with representatives from the Sustainability Team and the Corporate Government Affairs Team. Through its commitment, Monde Nissin went beyond EPR compliance, achieving 100% diversion last year—and they’re aiming to uphold this standard in 2024. A key highlight of the visit was witnessing the Aling Tindera Program in action. Monde Nissin’s support, in partnership with PCX and HOPE, has driven real change by contributing to this program - empowering communities to collect and responsibly dispose of plastics. A heartfelt thank you to the HOPE team for organizing such an inspiring visit to experience the Aling Tindera's impact firsthand! Like Monde Nissin, your company can make meaningful strides too toward a sustainable future. Work with us now: www.pcxmarkets.com #PCXMarkets #EPR #plasticcredits #plasticresponsibility

One of the most common questions I get when sharing the work we are doing at PCX is how our offering of plastic credits compares to carbon credits. While there are many nuanced similarities and differences, the simplest response is "same basic mechanism, quite different application." This is based on both the inherent structural differences between plastic and carbon as well as the learnings (positive and negative) we have been able to apply from the efforts to deliver impact through carbon credits over time. Please take a look at what we say here, and happy to engage in constructive dialog and debate as always! Let's get to work.... #pcx #plasticwaste #sustainability #globalplasticstreaty
