  • We're proud to launch the Bijou Fortifié Nutrition and Wellness Programme in Cameroon, an initiative dedicated to educating children, parents, and teachers about the importance of balanced nutrition and healthy habits. Through interactive school visits, expert-led discussions, and engaging activities, we are bringing nutrition education to life. Our journey started on December 11th at Duvaal School, where over 700 children learned about the importance of eating well and staying active. With the support of Dr. Fotso, a specialist in nutrition and child education, we addressed key issues such as the impact of poor diets on attention levels and long-term health risks like diabetes and hypertension. “We want to instill good eating habits in our children to ensure they grow up healthy and energetic,” shared Armelle Carole Kouasseu, Marketing Manager at Olam Agri in Cameroon. The response has been overwhelmingly positive! Teachers are committed to reinforcing healthy habits in schools, and children are excited to share their newfound knowledge at home. But this is just the beginning! The Bijou Fortifié rice caravan will continue its journey, reaching more schools across Cameroon and beyond. #NutritionMatters #HealthyEating #OlamAgri #WellnessForAll

We're proud to announce that we've signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH to scale up sustainable development across agriculture supply chains in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. This is a significant milestone in our journey toward transforming the global agri-food sector. With GIZ, we’ll focus on: 🌾 Regenerative agriculture for better nutrition and soil health. 🌳 Reducing post-harvest losses to improve food security. 👩🌾 Expanding smallholder access to finance. 🌵 Driving ecosystem restoration and carbon initiatives. This partnership reflects over 15 years of collaboration between Olam Agri and GIZ, during which we’ve worked closely to empower smallholder farmers and advance sustainability across key crops like rice, cotton, and rubber. Together, we’ve already made a measurable impact—from increasing farmers’ incomes to reducing agriculture’s ecological footprint. https://lnkd.in/gRyJ27Hr #SustainableAgriculture #SmallholderEmpowerment #ClimateAction #PartnershipsForImpact

As part of our ongoing work to promote climate-resilient, sustainable cotton production in Chad, we have partnered IDH to launch a comprehensive "Train the Trainers" Programme on regenerative agricultural practices. A total of 182 trainers, including 60 Coordinators of Village Associations for Training and Quality (CAFQs), will be trained across six regions: Kélo, Moundou, Doba, Koumra, Sarh, and Kyabé. This initiative focuses on: ✔️ Erosion control: Installing sustainable structures to protect soil. ✔️ Biochar and Bokashi compost: Promoting natural, nutrient-rich soil amendments. ✔️ Agroforestry nurseries: Cultivating plants to enrich ecosystems and support livelihoods. By equipping trainers with these skills, we aim to strengthen climate resilience, improve soil health, and promote sustainable farming practices for cotton production. In 2020, the Sangha Music School was born, thanks to the generosity of Tom Bedel and C.F. Martin & Co - longtime partners of Olam Agri’s Wood Business, Congolaise Industrielle des Bois (CIB). Their donation of acoustic guitars wasn’t just about instruments; it was about unlocking the transformative power of music for the Pokola community. Today, the Sangha Music School is more than a music institution - it’s a sanctuary. It’s where individuals discover their voices, build a sense of purpose, and create inspiring connections that uplift the entire community. This initiative reflects our commitment to creating sustainable, positive impacts in the regions where we operate. 🎥 Watch the video to see how the joy of music is transforming lives in Pokola. https://lnkd.in/gnyFB8iN #OlamAgri #Sustainability #CommunityEmpowerment #MusicForChange Ashish Malik Vincent Istace
