It’s Singapore Maritime Week, and last night, we had the pleasure of co-hosting our inaugural networking event with Shift4Good, a VC fund dedicated to impact investing in the smart mobility & circular economy sectors.    The event featured around 200 distinguished guests comprising investors, government agencies like Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and Enterprise Singapore, maritime corporates, and tech innovators – with the Ambassador of France to Singapore, Minh Di Tang, attending as guest of honour. Eight start-ups making waves in the maritime tech landscape were also invited, including among them our portfolio companies. Pyxis, Shippeo, Sinay, bound4blue, BeeX, Sea Machines Robotics, Aidrivers Ltd., and Everimpact sit at the forefront of decarbonisation and AI, and their solutions are redefining the future of maritime operations and sustainability.   It was an exciting opportunity for participants to network and learn how innovation and collaboration are propelling the maritime industry forward. Our holding company IMC Pan Asia Alliance has rebranded into TPC (Tsao Pao Chee), to better reflect the Group’s essence and aspirations as it transforms for the well-being era. In line with TPC’s focus areas, IMC Ventures will continue to drive innovation and sustainable growth for the maritime and logistics sector through impactful investments! 💪

While much of the conversation for the maritime sector’s green transition has been dominated by MARPOL and sustainable fuels, the potential for AI to optimise routes and operations for greener outcomes has been less explored.    Together with Emerald Technology Ventures, Nabtesco Technology Ventures, Chevron Technology Ventures, RKKVC, and Level2 Ventures, we recently participated in a USD12 million funding round for Sea Machines Robotics.    Based in Boston, Sea Machines Robotics specialises in autonomous piloting systems and advanced perception technology for maritime vessels. Their proprietary technology enables sea vessels to operate more efficiently, precisely, and safely, even allowing for real-time rerouting through traffic and obstacles using streaming data. This not only leads to fuel savings and greenhouse gas reductions, but also addresses the growing manpower shortage in the maritime sector through AI.    “Achieving ambitious global emissions target will require a holistic approach integrating all aspects of maritime shipping, including advancements in operational efficiency.
