We’re excited to celebrate five years of partnership with DBS Bank for the DBS-Heartware Workshop series! Since 2020, DBS People of Purpose volunteers have been equipping youths with essential skills and knowledge. The latest workshops, held on 31 August and 7 September, focused on Stewardship & Accountability and Healing through Effective Feedback. We are deeply grateful to the senior management from DBS who shared invaluable guidance on embracing responsibility, managing resources, and promoting growth through constructive feedback to Heartware youths. Special thanks to Hamesh Khurana, Daryl Ley, Edwin Hsu and the wonderful team from DBS People of Purpose for empowering the next generation and helping us build a brighter future together! #YouthEmpowerment #VolunteerImpact #YouthDevelopment #SkillBuilding #CommunityGrowth #EmpoweringYouth #ShapingTheFuture #InspiringChange

🌟 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝘀, 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 🌟 At Heartware Network, we are committed to youth development and believe that empowering our young people with opportunities to lead and give back is key to creating a brighter future for all. One of the ways we achieve this is through the 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲-𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗼 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲, where our youths volunteer their time to conduct reading sessions with children—helping raise literacy levels while also fostering the joy of learning. In these weekly sessions, our passionate youth volunteers not only guide children through reading but also create meaningful, interactive activities that consolidate learning. Through this process, the children benefit from increased literacy skills, greater confidence in reading, and enhanced social skills, while the volunteers gain valuable experience in leadership, communication, and community engagement. Here’s what some of the educators from Admiralty Primary School had to say: "Our children look forward to the sessions with the volunteers and have fun every Monday. We appreciate how the volunteers improvise activities to consolidate learning for the children after leading them through the reading. We can definitely see not just an increase in students' confidence in reading but also observe their social skills being enhanced. Thank you, volunteers, for your time." Through this programme, we are not just building better readers—we are building confident, compassionate leaders of tomorrow. Our volunteers are developing the skills and mindset needed to create positive change in our society, one child at a time. #YouthDevelopment #Volunteerism #RaisingLiteracy #HeartwareNetwork #TanotoFoundation #LearningTogether #CommunityImpact #LeadershipInAction

Over the past few weeks, our Youth Leaders from the 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 - 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲 have been actively conducting their Digital Learning Workshop sessions in Changi Simei in collaboration with SG Digital Office. This is part of our ongoing collaboration with IMDA, to expand our outreach to more seniors in the East Coast community to increase their digital readiness. During these sessions, our Youth Leaders shared with the residents crucial knowledge on staying safe in the digital world. They covered important topics such as identifying and avoiding scams, as well as recognizing and combating false information and fake news. We'd also like to thank IMDA for providing us with the skills and knowledge needed to make these sessions successful. #SGDigitalOffice #DigitalforLifeSG #PlayItForward #HeartwareNetwork #HeartareSG #EastCoast

Heartware Network is honoured to have received the Ministry of National Development Singapore Minister's Award 2024, alongside Gardens Learning Hub, as a partner for the 'Learn with the Gardens' project at Gardens by the Bay. Over 12 weeks, our dedicated volunteers led reading sessions at the Gardens Learning Hub, combining indoor lessons with outdoor exploration for the children. This included monthly CDC storytelling sessions for CDC beneficiaries on top of weekly sessions for other children beneficiaries.  This initiative provided them with a chance to learn about sustainability through engaging, hands-on activities amidst the beautiful, lush greenery of Gardens by the Bay. #youthdevelopment #raisingliteracy #youthempowerment #reading

𝑰𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒙𝒕 𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒃𝒆𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒅 𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 Hear from our school partner from Anderson Primary school! "We are deeply grateful to the group of five students from Raffles Institution (RI) and one student from St Joseph's Institution (SJI) for their unwavering support and dedication. Every Wednesday, they generously volunteer their time to tutor and mentor a group of 16 students (under 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲), serving as big brothers and sisters. Their commitment goes well beyond academic assistance—they help with schoolwork, review past exam papers, and provide personalised teaching in Mathematics. The impact of their guidance is evident in the marked improvement in our students' academic performance. However, their contribution extends far beyond the classroom. These volunteers also inspire and motivate our students with encouraging words and pep talks, significantly boosting their confidence and fostering a positive attitude towards learning. The strong bonds they’ve formed with our students have been invaluable, offering both academic support and emotional upliftment. Our students have greatly benefited from this programme, and we sincerely appreciate the positive influence and dedication of these exemplary young volunteers. Their selfless efforts have profoundly impacted our students' lives, and we are truly grateful for their steadfast commitment." 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑩𝒆𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒎𝒔 Our volunteers embarked on an unforgettable journey at the Singapore Botanic Gardens, thanks to our corporate partner, UOB! In collaboration with students from Lianhua Primary School, Meridian Primary School, and Suncare SG who are under our Heartware Tuition Programme, the group ventured into the lush greenery for their weekly sessions. Exploring the diverse wildlife, plants, and intricate ecosystems, the students gained hands-on learning that extended far beyond the classroom. By connecting with nature in such a meaningful way, these young learners not only developed a deeper understanding of the environment but also cultivated a lasting appreciation for the beauty and power of nature. This experience underscores the importance of cultivating a generation that is mindful of our environment and committed to sustainability. We're grateful to UOB for making this enriching experience possible!
