During the interview, he highlighted how our recent acquisition of A2B Australia Limited and CMAC Group are driving growth, scaling our operations and enhancing capabilities of the Group. We are pleased to share that ComfortDelGro Group delivered a robust performance with 21.4% net profit growth in first half 2024 vs 1H2023, marking the fifth consecutive quarter of year-on-year (YoY) earnings improvement for the Group. Revenue in 1H2024 rose to S$2.12 billion, a 13.7% YoY increase, while PATMI increased by 21.4% YoY to $95.3 million. In line with the stronger performance, ComfortDelGro has proposed a tax-exempt one-tier dividend of 3.52 cents per share, representing a payout ratio of 80%. Our performance reflects our focus on strengthening core businesses and pursuing profitable overseas growth. As we navigate evolving macro-economic challenges, we remain committed to building scale and new capabilities for long term success. We are excited to announce the strategic partnership between ComfortDelGro and Pony.ai, a global autonomous mobility company, to advance large-scale commercial robotaxi operations. This collaboration aims to shape the future of transportation by leveraging our combined expertise. Together, we will co-develop customised, safe, and sustainable autonomous vehicle (AV) solutions designed for deployment in diverse international markets. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) took place at the 14th Singapore-Guangdong Collaboration Council (SGCC) meeting and was witnessed by the Minister for Health, Mr Ong Ye Kung, and the Governor of Guangdong, Mr Wang Weizhong. Minister Ong, along with Minister of State for Trade and Industry, Mr Alvin Tan, had the opportunity to experience Pony.ai's state-of-the-art technology firsthand. ComfortDelGro Managing Director/Group CEO, Mr Siak Kian Cheng said: “We believe that AV technology will help in alleviating global driver shortage and meeting the transport demand of underserved areas. Pony.ai's success with robotaxis deployment in major Chinese cities is a strong testament to their capabilities.
