Uncertainty about changes to work habits, the potential for layoffs, and other personal factors can cause employee resistance that can hinder a change initiative. So how can you overcome resistance and support employees through change? Start by using a structured change management framework. Consider the Prosci ADKAR®️ Model, which consists of five elements: - Awareness - Desire - Knowledge - Ability - Reinforcement The ADKAR Model guides you in educating employees on why the change is necessary, its benefits, and its impact on their roles. The 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐍 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 was a resounding success! David William Lee, Managing Director for Prosci in Singapore, delivered a keynote address on the global trends shaping change management. His message focused on the critical role of building organisational change capabilities in a rapidly shifting world. David emphasized that while predicting specific change trends is challenging, an organisation's focus should be on strengthening it's ability to navigate and thrive amidst any kind of change. Drawing from recent research conducted by #Prosci, David highlighted that organisations are shifting their focus from reactive change to proactive capability building. "Organisational #change is no longer an occasional project," David explained. "It's a continuous, fast-paced, and interconnected process. To stay competitive, businesses must embed change capabilities into their DNA." David discussed several global trends, including the impact of technology, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence (#AI), all of which top the list of concerns for change professionals according to Prosci. Regulatory changes, environmental sustainability, talent retention, and cultural shifts also featured prominently in discussions about the future of change management. David also highlighted the distinct challenges reported by change practitioners in the ASEAN region, noting that in many cases, change management is still perceived more as a functional role than as a key strategic priority. Leadership engagement, operational readiness, and overcoming "organisational debt" (inefficient processes and outdated practices) were noted as significant hurdles in many organizations. "Organisational debt," David explained, "is one of the biggest barriers to organisational #agility. It refers to the accumulation of outdated processes, redundant roles, and inefficient systems that go unreviewed and unrefined and hinders an organisation's ability to quickly adapt to change." David stressed the importance of achieving "organisational fitness"—the ability to manage continuous change with minimal disruption and change fatigue. "Leaders must move beyond resilience to building change capability," he said, "It's no longer enough to withstand change; we need to build systems that grow stronger because of it." The #conference set the tone for a future where change is not an obstacle but an opportunity, as long as organisations build the capabilities to adapt and thrive. David’s parting message was clear: "Let’s not just prepare for the future; let’s shape it with the capabilities we build today." #ProsciSingapore #kpintar #changemanagement #businesstranformation #1stACMC2024 #conference2024 #success #leadership #digitaltransformation #communication #changeleadership #adkar

💡 Organizational change doesn’t happen at the scale of your organization. It happens with each individual team member. Find out how here: https://lnkd.in/gcyNXQRq Your team’s reactions to change will often follow the five stages of the Change Curve, a model that describes how people emotionally respond to change. Recognizing these stages is an important first step in helping them navigate the changes ahead. However, the Change Curve only explains what your team is feeling—it doesn’t provide guidance on how to help them manage those feelings productively. For that, you need an evidence-based approach, such as the Prosci Change Management Methodology. Read the article in the link to see how our methodology aligns with the Change Curve and supports managing change on a human level. #prosci #changemanagement #businesstransformation
