President Joe Biden on Wednesday signed legislation that will exempt some U.S. semiconductor manufacturing facilities from new federal environmental reviews that are receiving government subsidies, the White House said. Without the new law, projects from the $52.7 billion semiconductor chips manufacturing and research program could have been forced to get new environmental reviews under a federal law taking potentially years that had already faced federal, state, and local environmental regulations and permitting requirements.
The court decision said the action was initiated by Russia's deputy prosecutor "in defence of the interests of the Russian Federation" in connection with the Ukrainian central bank's withdrawal of the licence of MR bank with plans to wind up the bank by 2025. The prosecutor's office launched the action late last month against Ukrainian regulators and the two U.S. banks - Bank of New York Mellon and JP Morgan Chase Bank recognising the action as "expropriation" of the property of MR bank - Ukrainian subsidiary of Russia's largest bank, Sberbank.
Levi Strauss & Co said on Wednesday it was announcing a strategic review of its underperforming Dockers brand including a possible sale. Shares of the denim maker were down nearly 8% in after-market trading. The company missed Wall Street expectations for quarterly revenue, hurt by weaker consumer spending mainly in the Dockers brand, known for chinos and khakis.
