Court history
The Eleventh Circuit was established on October 14, 1980, under 94 Stat. 1994 which broke the then Fifth Circuit up into the Fifth Circuit and the Eleventh Circuit. All of the judges who resided in the newly created Eleventh Circuitwere transferred to the new appellate court. The court has had twelve judicial posts since its creation.
