The first series of the British police procedural television programme Line of Duty was broadcast on BBC Two between 26 June and 24 July 2012. The series follows the actions of the fictional Anti-Corruption Unit 12.
Line of Duty follows Detective Seargent Steven "Steve" Arnott (Martin Compston), a former authorized firearms officer who led an operation to catch an Islamic terrorist intending to detonate a bomb, but the strike team mistakenly entered the wrong apartment and shot dead an unarmed innocent man.

Series one revolves around DCI Tony Gates, DS Matthew Cottan (Dot), DC Nigel Morton, DC Kate Fleming and DC Deepak Kapoor who are all part of the TO-20 squad. AC-12 led by Superintendent Ted Hastings, with DS Steve Arnott begin investigating DCI Gates about his inflated crime statistics and possible laddering.
