One was the EW Oral History when she and Kim each issued a statement saying they are grateful but have nothing new to add. Another time was when they were on Andy Cohen and immediately shut down a FOL trivia game…kind of rudely. Out of everyone, Mindy seemed the least likely to join a reboot so I’m surprised to hear her thoughts in that video.
Jan 17, 2023 · Kate Micucci, to me, tends to sound too enthusiastic to be Velma, or has a fake 'cartoony' quality to her voice acting, if that makes sense. Mindy Cohn, BJ Ward, and Nicole Jaffe all sounded really natural in their performances, and had a mostly laid-back but sometimes giddy tone that I feel really defines Velma as a character.
In all honestly Mindy Cohn & Bj Ward were great Velmas IMO. I honestly don't know why Mindy left. But yeah what WB is doing to Velma's Character if awful right now. I THINK and don’t quote me on this, but I think she had to leave because she was dealing with breast cancer.
Nov 1, 2023 · The true reason is when they were filming Be Cool Scooby-Doo, Mindy did not fit the mold they were going for. They tried with her, it just didn’t work out. Same thing happened with Heather North on Zombie Island. From there WB just didn’t want two Velma’s on their ledger so they just didn’t offer her work.
That voice is forever connected with the horrible Velma character in Be Cool, so I’ll never be able to like it if that’s what I keep thinking about. Mindy Cohn leaving is just a tragedy for her character, honestly. Guess this is an unpopular opinion around here, but I hated Mindy as Velma. I found her nasally voice grating to listen to, and ...

Aug 7, 2023 · Mindy Cohn on Generation Gap 8/3/23. I was watching last week's episode of Generation Gap. Mindy was on there as the celebrity guest for the kids to guess who they are. Sadly, I don't think the grandparents knew who Mindy was. One of them said, "who is that?". You can tell they didn't watch this show. Oh geez.

She is best known for her role as Natalie Green in The Facts of Life and also for being the current voice of Velma Dinkley in the Scooby-Doo franchise, which she has held since 2002. She currently resides in Beverly Hills.
