Dec 2, 2021 · The way in which University applications are made in Australia makes “acceptance rate” a meaningless statistic. Local students apply through the Universities Acceptance Centre to all institutions at once, and are then offered the highest ranked preference that their High School marks qualify them for. You don’t apply separately for each uni.
The University does not have a high acceptance rate it just has one criteria to entrance which is ATAR. If a 95 ATAR is required for Biomedicine it means only the top 5% of the high school graduate population is eligible to access the course. Apr 22, 2023 · The acceptance rate is so high cause if you have a high domestic grade (ATAR) = Guaranteed Entry. It's not like the US where they take a holistic approach to determining entry. Although international students entry barrier (and I'm one of them) are a lot lower. 1. Reply.
Feb 15, 2024 · Acceptance rates are meaningless for Australian universities. The universities do not publish them, so anything that you find online is a guesstimate based on agent data. Australian universities tend to have clear grade-only entry criteria, so you have a good idea before applying if you will get accepted or not.

Most australian universities have similarly high acceptance rates because acceptance is entirely based on the raw ATAR, there are no essays/interviews/etc. and the requirements for each course are published annually. Dec 2, 2021 · The non-adjusted (ie no access Melbourne) cut off is expected to be 85. And the Access Melbourne cut off is 76, note this only applies to some categories of Access Melbourne, not all. Scores do change each year, however.
Apr 17, 2022 · Regarding GPA or mark to get in, I’m not too sure. However looking at the Uni Melb website for ‘Master of International Business’, it says “a University Melbourne equivalent 65+ weighted average mark will be considered”. The minimum English requirement is a band 6.5.

(it is a pre-requisite for admission toCanadian vet schools) so the fact that Melbourne offers a shorter 4-year program is a plus to me (it is 5-years at Glasgow and no difference between a B.Sc. or straight out of high school).
