  3. May 10, 2022 · Most Walker exhaust products are aluminized steel, the aluminum being considered a "finish" over a steel product. I believe Walker makes a stainless steel muffler but that's about it for stainless steel there. Aluminized steel is common for exhaust system components. Aluminum exhaust systems exist but are expensive. Not common either.

  7. Mar 1, 2016 · Just to clarify. Although the muffler was still working, the resonator pipe, where it is attached to the muffler, rusts out and crumbles. Walker warranties the resonators for 90 days. Only Walker mufflers get 3 years. The Walker resonator needs to be replaced every year or so.

  9. Aug 2, 2019 · Here we are at the farthest end of the exhaust system, the tail pipe. For the 4th gen vans, the resonator sits literally behind the rear bumper in the same direction. With that said, the BEST resonator delete is when the resonator, and the other 2 bends are taken out. The tail pipe just extends out on the passenger side.

  10. Oct 27, 2008 · Typical life up here is 10 years plus, the mufflers going at the seams first. I believe the corrosion is mostly from the inside, drain hole in muffler gets plugged, or whatever. My 1995 Dodge Caravan had a stainless steel exhaust. They have been around for decades. Walker is even making stainless steel exhaust parts now.
