We're conducting the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for the Cable Monitoring Solutions part of the Champlain Hudson project alongside Hydro Québec, TDI - a Blackstone Portfolio Company, and LUNA Innovations. "This testing phase is crucial as we validate the DAS (Distributed Acoustic Sensing), DTS (Distributed Temperature Sensing), and RTTR (Real Time Thermal Rating) systems from both network and cybersecurity perspectives, all within a controlled lab environment that mirrors the actual installation. In this project, we link seven stations and cover a cable system length of more than 600 km, from Hertel, Canada to Astoria, USA", reflects Christofer Odehammar, Senior Project Manager Cable Monitoring Solutions at NKT.  The Cable Monitoring System, capable of detecting acoustic events with meter accuracy and constantly monitoring the cable's temperature which is reducing false alarms, plays a vital role in monitoring the cable stretching from New York to Quebec.
