This initiative aims to accelerate renewable energy investment and achieve the target of a 23% renewable energy mix by 2025. • Indonesia Sustainable Mining: The Indonesian government has committed 60 Billion USD for infrastructure development by 2024, including in the mining sector. This investment includes upgrades in digitalization, automation, and other initiatives aimed at boosting the industry’s efficiency and competitiveness. • Indonesia Healthcare Development: The Ministry of Health has allocated approximately 11.5 Billion USD for 2024 (5.6% of the total state budget) to achieve a healthy and strong Indonesia Golden Generation by 2045. #FocusAsia #BusinessSweden #JakartaBRT #NusantaraSuperGrid #SustainableMining #Healthcare #Indonesia

The Indonesian EV industry is one of the most rapidly growing in the region: • Abundance of raw material for battery production: Indonesia was the world’s largest producer of nickel in 2023, with a total production of 1.36 Mllion tonnes, accounting for 40% of global production. The country also has the world’s largest nickel reserves. Nickel is a key component in NMC (nickel manganese cobalt) lithium-ion batteries. • Government incentives for EV manufacturers: The government provides multiple incentives for EV manufacturers to produce and/or assemble their cars in Indonesia, including a reduction in sales VAT from 11 percent to 1 percent, exemption from import duty for CKD kits, and luxury tax, provided that the manufactured product achieves more than 40 percent local content. These incentives can also apply to imported products while manufacturers are building factories in the country. In the past few years, Indonesia has attracted significant foreign investments in its nickel industry, primarily focused on electric battery production creating opportunities for Swedish companies in the electric vehicle value chain. #FocusAsia #BusinessSweden #MarketInsight #GreenTransition #EV #ElectricCar #Battery #Indonesia
