The CapMan Nordic Infrastructure II fund acquires Haminan Kaukolämpö, a district heating company, and Haminan Sähköverkko, an electricity network operator, from Haminan Energia. AFRY supported CapMan in the process by providing commercial, technical and environmental due diligence services. I joined AFRY in 2016, seeking growth and a more stimulating career path. Since my first day, I was super motivated. I began in a pure analyst role, so lot of playing with other models, digging in numbers, analysing results and writing reports. As I climbed the company ladder, moving from a pure analytical role to a managerial one, my responsibilities evolved. Being part of a smaller office in Madrid opened so many doors, from client-facing responsibilities to bits of project management. On reaching the senior management level, I found new challenges and rewards in driving sales and mentoring fresh talent. It’s a beautiful role, and for me, it’s one of the main motivations I have nowadays; making sure that people are engaged. I hope they’ll follow a similar path to mine, ensuring we retain the right people and maximise their potential. We are pleased to announce that AFRY Management Consulting has successfully supported Bestinver in acquiring stakes from Macquarie Capital's EV Asset Holdings for the electrical transformation of service stations in Italy. Our team, based in Milan and Madrid, acted as Technical Advisor for this important deal.   Bestinver, the fund manager of ACCIONA, carried out the investment through its second infrastructure fund. What does being brave means to him? 💬 “Being a brave leader for me is about taking responsibility and finding solutions to challenging tasks. In my mind, I always feel that any task or problem can be solved by finding the right people for the job, as well as taking ownership and feeling brave enough to know that an outcome can be achieved. I came from an operations and technical background, working in the paper industry for 7 years on a 24/7 paper machine. Every problem or issue that we faced needed to be addressed quickly and in a timely manner, no matter the time of day. I took that level of thinking into AFRY after I joined, seeing any deliverable, problem or difficult project as achievable. I have tried to instil the same level of thinking into my team, supporting them to navigate through difficult times and showing them that anything can be achieved if you put your mind to it. I always have felt like AFRY's working culture has supported this. We are delighted to announce that AFRY has been appointed as the Owner’s Engineer for the renewable power plant in Allied Green Ammonia Pty Ltd’s flagship green ammonia project in Australia! 🌱 This innovative project will harness 4.75 GW of solar power and battery storage to fuel a 3 GW hydrogen electrolyser, producing almost one million tonnes of green ammonia annually, equivalent to offsetting 1.8 million tonnes of global carbon emissions. This project is a game-changer for the decarbonisation of hard-to-electrify sectors like heavy industry, shipping, and aviation, supporting a cleaner, greener future. AFRY’s role is to review the design of the renewable plant and ensure the seamless integration of solar and BESS technologies to optimise green ammonia production.
