Breakthrough: Volvo Trucks will launch a long-range version of the Volvo FH Electric with 600 km range. The enabler for the 600 km range is a new driveline technology, the so-called e-axle, which creates space for significantly more battery capacity onboard. More efficient batteries, a further improved battery management system and overall efficiency of the powertrain also contribute to the extended range. “Our new electric flagship will be a great complement to our wide range of electric trucks and enable zero-exhaust emission transport also for the longer distances. It will be a great solution for transport companies with a high annual mileage on their trucks and with a strong commitment to reduce CO2,” says Roger Alm, President Volvo Trucks.

Introducing Charging Mangagement by Volvo Trucks - a new service that enables transport companies to efficiently manage the private charging of their electric trucks at the home depot. Charging Management helps increase productivity and uptime by ensuring that the trucks in a fleet are sufficiently charged for scheduled operations and reducing the number of unscheduled charging sessions. This new service is a great complement to Volvo Open Charge, which Volvo Trucks and Volvo Energy launched last year. Volvo Open Charge helps carriers find, access, and pay for public charging stations and is available for all truck brands, not just Volvo Trucks.

We have been offering remanufacturing for 70 years and we will continue developing the processes to extend the lifecycle of parts and components. Remanufacturing gives new life to a product or component. There is also a great opportunity to reuse and extend the life of a product with high quality service and resale of used products. One example is Volvo Penta, which has now expanded its range of remanufactured drives for marine customers. The remanufacturing process for complete marine engines reuses up to 60% of components and can save up to 56% of CO2 emissions during production compared to new production.

The Olympic Games in Paris just ended, and The Paralympic Games are soon starting. But preparations for the 2032 games in Brisbane, Australia, have already begun. Brisbane has pledged to host a climate-positive Olympic and Paralympic Games. One area that is already showing signs of rapid change is Brisbane’s public transport, which plays a key role in sustainable urban development. In the northern suburbs of the city, operator Keolis Downer’s fleet of 16 electric Volvo BZL from Volvo Buses with Volgren bodies are already in operation. From 2025 onwards, all new buses purchased for public transport in southeast Queensland will be zero-emission. The aim is to reduce emissions from Brisbane’s bus fleet by 50 percent by 2030, and 80 percent by 2035.

The time has come for emission-free construction sites to be the norm. Exhaust emission-free machines are already on the market, bringing both climate and health benefits. The City of Oslo has demonstrated that public procurement is an effective way to accelerate this transition. Starting next year, only exhaust emission-free machines are allowed in the city's projects. We urge others to follow. Volvo Group executive board members Melker Jernberg and Kina Wileke met yesterday with Nordic transport and housing ministers along with other invited participants during a visit to #WorldofVolvo, organized within the Nordic Council with Infrastructure Minister Andreas Carlson as host. Volvo Group is actively driving the sustainable transition in the construction industry through collaboration across the value chain. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/grsXbj4i
