How have kids' SEL needs changed post-pandemic? 💭 In a recent article published by EdSurge, the author highlights that the pandemic has "heightened feelings of anxiety, loneliness and uncertainty among young learners, making social-emotional learning (SEL) more critical than ever." Based on the article, here are three tips based in SEL for kids' brands in the toy, media, and gaming sectors: 💫 Integrate Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Tools: Products should promote emotional well-being through interactive tools, such as digital mood meters and role-playing scenarios. 😊 Offer Personalized, Scalable Solutions: Ensure content is adaptable to individual kids' emotional needs, making the experience engaging and relevant. 💥 Support for Educators and Parents: Provide accessible resources to foster SEL skills both at school and home, promoting consistency in emotional development. 🧡 👉 Check out the article here: https://lnkd.in/d-zVaJ9d #SEL #SocialAndEmotionalLearning #Covid #Kids

Save the Children International's latest report highlights the urgent need to act on the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, with a focus on kids' welfare. 🌟 Millions of kids risk being left behind in areas like education, health, and protection. 👨👧 Key takeaways from the report include: 🤸♀️ Kids First: Improving kids' lives creates ripple effects for communities and future generations. 💔 Inequality: Kids in low-income countries or conflict-affected areas face the most significant risks. 😷 COVID-19 Impact: The pandemic has disrupted global progress, massively affecting kids' health, education, and economic security. 🌎 Global Cooperation: Achieving the SDGs requires urgent global cooperation between governments, private sectors, and civil society. By ensuring that kids are at the heart of the SDG agenda, we can create a fairer, more sustainable world. 🧡 #ChildrensRights #Education #Wellbeing
We are in a race against time. There are only 6 years left until the 2030 deadline to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a blueprint of 17 goals with 169 targets agreed by all 193 United Nations (UN) Member States in 2015 to transform the world for the better and leave no one behind. But the world is currently failing to achieve the targets set, leaving behind the most disadvantaged children. Our new report "Racing Against Time" found for example that: ❌ Only 8 out of 86 countries, for which we have data, have made inclusive progress on child marriage, which has a devastating impact on childhoods. ❌Only 40 countries are on course to reach the target for ending stunting and other forms of malnutrition. 🗨 "Right now, we children and adolescents are living through a crisis affecting all our rights. It's urgent that we invest in children and address the challenges we face, including the climate crisis and gender inequality", Anai, 16, a child campaigner from Peru. In light of the increasing risk of failure to meet the goals, we are calling on world leaders to swiftly scale up investment in achieving the SDGs, prioritising social sectors that benefit children and their families as well as policies that put the furthest behind first ⚠ A delegation led by Save the Children International CEO Inger Ashing and including child campaigners from Zimbabwe and Peru is delivering this message directly to world leaders this weekend in New York City at the Summit of the Future. Breaking news in the area of kids digital (and overall) wellbeing 🌟 Sweden's Ministry of Health has just announced recommendations regarding kids screen time- namely NO screen time at all before the age of two. Other recommendations include: 📺 Age 2-5: max one hour 💻 6-12: max two hours 📱 13-18: max three hours To quote The Guardian and the Swedish minister of Social Affairs Jakob Forssmed: “For far too long we have allowed screens and apps to steal time and attention at the cost of what we know is needed to feel well. We know that use of digital media can have negative health effects, including worsened sleep and symptoms of depression." Do you think that these new guidelines will help to promote kids' overall wellbeing? 👀 Are they realistic and achievable in home, school and after-care settings? We're curious to hear your thoughts! 🧡 #DigitalWellbeing #MentalHealth #Kids #ScreenTime https://lnkd.in/dvuXuM7u
