We're proud to feature Peter Borgcrantz and Anders Pettersson, Material and Technology Engineers at IKEA, as part of the speaker lineup at our workshop on "The Future of Paper-Based Finish Foil: Cost-Efficiency and Sustainability with Pre-Impregnated Papers." With a foundation in cabinet making and mechanical engineering, Anders Pettersson has been with IKEA since 1998, developing production quality at wood furniture suppliers. Since 2006, he has been focused in materials like foils, boards, veneer and edge-glued panels, developing wood based materials & furniture and supporting the product development process with material knowledge.   Coming from a background in steel component manufacturing, Peter Borgcrantz joined IKEA in 2007 as Development Engineer in the Kitchen Business Area. Munksjö donated €5,000 to flood relief in Brazil.   Thanks to the collective efforts of our employees, who exceeded the target of collecting 17.800 km within 35 days during Tour DeCore (Munksjö's initiative to promote health, teamwork, and support social causes), we also donated an additional €5,000 to a second social cause chosen by our team: supporting the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to aid flood victims in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.   UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency is on the ground, providing emergency aid such as mattresses, blankets, hygiene kits, and financial support for both Brazilian and refugee families. Their efforts also include psychosocial support and economic recovery initiatives to help rebuild the affected communities.   We are proud to contribute to these critical efforts and support those in need. 🏬 Munksjö was the main sponsor of the URenew Urban Hackathon prize in Byshiv, Ukraine. 🏡 Our contribution is the result of the efforts of our employees during Tour DeCore, Munksjö's initiative to promote health, teamwork, and support social causes. For every kilometer our team covered, our company donated a sum of money to projects that align with our values—and this is one of them. URenew Philanthropic Platform is a philanthropic platform created to restore Ukrainian communities after the destruction caused by the war. On July 18-19, they held the Urban Hackathon, an open competition to find project ideas to become the basis for the development of the Byshiv community. The participants presented a total of 17 project ideas, which were evaluated by a highly qualified jury of specialists in different fields and then open for votes from the community residents. These are the winning projects, announced on July 26: 🥇 First place: "A Stage for Cultural Events in the Byshiv Community" – a new venue for festivals and celebrations in the Byshiv community. 🥈 Second place: "Development of a Park Area with a Sculpture of Soloviy-Rozbijnyk" – a recreation area featuring a unique sculpture. 🥉 Third place: "Children are the Future of Ukraine 🇺🇦" – a project focused on nurturing and developing the younger generation.
