Early this autumn, we had the honour of hosting the 9th MassMin event right here in Kiruna, bringing together global experts to address the most pressing challenges in sustainable mining. LKAB takes the next step its investment in critical minerals! 🌍 In Luleå, a new demonstration facility will now be built, which will be completed by the end of 2026. Here we will develop the process of utilising material streams from LKAB’s iron ore production in Gällivare into valuable resources. The goal? To produce three key products: phosphorus for mineral fertilisers, rare earth elements for products such as electronics, electric cars and wind turbines, and pure gypsum. This decision brings us one step closer to increase Europe´s self-sufficiency of critical minerals that are crucial for achieving electrification and climate transition. #criticalminerals #REE #rareearthelements #phosphorus #Norrbotten

"I am incredibly happy and proud to have received this award.
