Ting Chi is a professor and chair in the Department of Apparel, Merchandising, Design, and Textiles at Washington State University (WSU). He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of North Carolina University at Greensboro. His research focuses on strategic marketing and supply chain management for sustainable business development in the textile, apparel, and retail industries. His research has been recognized nationally and internationally, with 130+ refereed journal articles and conference proceedings. The leading refereed journals where he has published his research include the Journal of Business Research (JBR), International Business Review (IBR), Management Decision (MD), Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management (JFMM), and Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services (JRCS). As PI or Co-PI, he has obtained extramural research funding from various funding agencies including the USDA Higher Education Challenge Grant, USDA Specialty Crop Research Initiative, USDA Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities Program, EPA, California Agriculture Research Initiatives, Walmart Foundation, Cotton Inc., Murdock Charitable Trust, and many private companies. The notable awards and honors received include the National Science Foundation (NSF) Young Scholar Award, the ITAA Mid-Career Excellence Award, the Global Outstanding Paper – Marketing Award from the Emerald Literati Network, the Exceptional Faculty Award from WSU, and the President’s Award for Leadership from WSU.
