Glyphosate

Key downloads

Glyphosate is an active substance in plant protection products widely used in the European Union.

Debate about the safety of glyphosate arose mainly from differences in the classifications of its human carcinogenic hazard potential by the European Food Safety Authority and the World Health Organisation's International Agency for Research on Cancer.

This explanatory note discusses these differences but does not take a position on the carcinogenic hazard potential of glyphosate.
