Neuroimaging in frontotemporal dementia

JD Rohrer, HJ Rosen - International Review of Psychiatry, 2013 - Taylor & Francis
The term frontotemporal dementia (FTD) refers to a group of neurodegenerative disorders
that are associated with atrophy of the frontal and temporal lobes, and present clinically with
impairments of behaviour or language. Three main subtypes are described, behavioural
variant FTD (bvFTD) and two subtypes of the language presentation (known as primary
progressive aphasia or PPA) called semantic variant of PPA and non-fluent variant of PPA.
Most imaging studies of FTD have used volumetric T1 magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or …

Appprofiler: a flexible method of exposing privacy-related behavior in android applications to end users

S Rosen, Z Qian, ZM Mao - Proceedings of the third ACM conference on …, 2013 - dl.acm.org
Although Android's permission system is intended to allow users to make informed decisions
about their privacy, it is often ineffective at conveying meaningful, useful information on how
a user's privacy might be impacted by using an application. We present an alternate
approach to providing users the knowledge needed to make informed decisions about the
applications they install. First, we create a knowledge base of mappings between API calls
and fine-grained privacy-related behaviors. We then use this knowledge base to produce …

Is the relationship between race and continuous positive airway pressure adherence mediated by sleep duration?

ME Billings, CL Rosen, R Wang, D Auckley, R Benca… - Sleep, 2013 - academic.oup.com
Abstract Study Objectives: Black race has been associated with decreased continuous
positive airway pressure (CPAP) adherence. Short sleep duration, long sleep latency, and
insomnia complaints may affect CPAP adherence as they affect sleep and opportunity to use
CPAP. We assessed whether self-reported sleep measures were associated with CPAP
adherence and if racial variations in these sleep characteristics may explain racial
differences in CPAP adherence. Design: Analysis of data from a randomized controlled trial …
