Grateful Leaves Card - TMS #570

Hello! It's officially September and I'm counting down the days until fall/autumn arrives. I thought I would kick off this month using leaves for this weeks Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge. The sketch this week was designed by Debbie Foster and it includes some of my favorite elements (things in threes and a large half circle). As always, the design team provided wonderful inspiration. To check out their designs and all the challenge details click HERE. We hope you will play along this week. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to link your creation by 8 pm EST on Sunday. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Supplies used: Very Vanilla cardstock, Bo Bunny patterned paper from the Beautifully Brisk paper pad, retired Truly Grateful stamp set and Vintage Leaves stamp set and dies by Stampin' Up! along with Cinnamon Cider and Early Espresso ink by Stampin' Up!.

Truly Grateful Card with Leaves

Sometimes I think coming up with the blog post title is harder than actually creating a handmade card. This title is simply descriptive, Truly Grateful Card with Leaves. To create this card I used a couple of my favorite things, which include the Stampin' Up! Woodgrain embossing folder and the Gently Falling stamp set. I embossed the Early Espresso sandable cardstock with the woodgrain folder and attached it to a kraft card base. The accent colors are Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, and Very Vanilla cardstock with the Burlap ribbon detail. I used the rock-n-roll technique to stamp the leaves and then fussy-cut them and adhered them directly to the Very Vanilla cardstock. It took a little time to fray all the edges of the burlap ribbon and then I zig zag stitched it at the top to the card.  The last piece was the Truly Grateful sentiment which I punched with an oval punch and layered it with the scallop oval punch and adhered with dimensionals. Even though this card is casual in it's design, I hope you feel it's warm with texture and color. Well, until next time, thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

4 x 7 Thanksgiving Card

This afternoon I decided to shake things up and make a different sized card. It's been awhile since a made a 4 x 7 card, so that's what I did. This 4 x 7 Thanksgiving Card is a casual design. I used the Truly Grateful stamp set by Stampin' Up! and a scallop die by Spellbinders. The twine is from American Crafts and I added a few Candy Dots by Stampin' Up! The colours are full of Autumn tones using Soft Suede, Natural, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze and a small amount of Daffodil Delight ink for the wheat. I decided to stamp the inside of the card with the sentiment instead of the front, just to be different. One of my favorite things about 4 x 7 cards is I always have envelopes for this size. Well, that's about it. Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Magnificent Maple Grateful Card

This evening I was reminded by my friend Jessi's card post that the deadline for the Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World is midnight tonight. It worked out nicely because I really like the sketch at The Paper Players and I used it to make this Magnificent Maple Grateful Card. I've used a mixture of different patterned papers and they're all from different companies, My Mind's Eye (big woodgrain), American Crafts (light woodgrain), and K & Company (plaid). The Truly Grateful sentiment stamp and the Magnificent Maple stamp are both by Stampin' Up! Before I stamped the maple leaf, I sponged Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, and Cherry Cobbler ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock. I inked the maple stamp with Cajun Craze and stamped onto the sponged cardstock. Then I fussy cut the maple leaf and adhered it to a 2.5" circle. The accent banners are made from Cherry Cobbler cardstock and the final touch were three Old Olive Candy Dots. I'm also linking this card to the Anything Goes challenge at Make It Monday. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Gently Falling Grateful Card

I'm super happy that Autumn has arrived. It's been a little cooler the last couple of days but I'm still waiting for that "big" cool down to hit Oklahoma. Hopefully this year we will have some pretty Autumn color when the leaves turn. It's really hit or miss in our area but one thing is for sure, the leaves in my craftroom have already turned. This Gently Falling Grateful Card features a golden Maple leaf and a burnt orange Oak leaf. I used the rock-n-roll technique with the Gently Falling stamp set by Stampin' Up! to create the leaves and then I fussy-cut them. The layout for this card comes from this weeks sketch at The Paper Players created by Sandy Mathis. When choosing the colors for this card, I was inspired by the color inspiration photo challenge at the Love to Create challenge blog. The final challenge I considered when creating this Gently Falling Grateful Card was the Fashionable Stamping Challenge to use Autumn Colors. The twine and candy dots were the final touches to this card and now I have one more completed Thanksgiving card. Thanks for stopping by and have a terrific day!

Wonderfall Grateful Card

Here in the United States we have seventeen days until the first day of Autumn. I'm ready for the fall colors and cooler temperatures to arrive. The Paper Players have a fall themed challenge this week and time to play along is almost gone. So this evening I made this Wonderfall Grateful Card. I combined retired and new products by Stampin' Up! in my card. The colors are:
  • Crushed Curry
  • Early Espresso
  • Old Olive
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Whisper White
When I came up with the layout I knew I'd have to make this card a little larger. The finished size is 6.25" x 4.5" to accommodate the 4" woodgrain circle. I fussy-cut the leaves and adhered them along with the sentiment banner to the circle with dimensionals. I really like the Old Olive with the Crushed Curry and the woodgrain embossing folder is one of my seasonal favorites. Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic evening and pleasant tomorrow!

Truly Grateful Card

In case you haven't looked at the calendar, there is five weeks left until the beginning of Autumn. I don't know about you but I'm ready for Autumn to arrive. I LOVE the rich colors of the turning leaves and the crisp Autumn air.

Today I played with a couple of my new stamps and created this Truly Grateful Card. Before placing my last order I debated about buying the Magnificent Maple stamp because I have a ton of leaf stamps already, but I'm really glad I did. It's a wonderful size and it stamps beautifully.

This card was made with NO special tools. All I used was Stamps, Ink and Paper to participate at 'ABC' Challenges. When I first starting making cards I didn't have a lot of tools to use. This challenge took me back to the basics. The Natural Composition background paper has a woodgrain glossy finish and I sponged on whisper white craft ink to give it a whitewash finish. The other colors are: Early Espresso, So Saffron, Cajun Craze, Soft Suede, and Whisper White. The sentiment and acorn are from the new Truly Grateful stamp set from the Holiday Stampin' Up! catalog. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!!!
