Mirai Solar has been announced as one of the awardees of the Mega Green Accelerator. The program, which fosters collaborations to accelerate cleantech technologies in the Middle East and globally, has been brought to life by PepsiCo Middle East and SABIC and run by AstroLabs.   The program offered everything you would expect from an accelerator program. We would like to express our gratitude to the AstroLabs team with particular heartfelt reference to Yanina Gimenez, Adela Alonso Alonso, and our fantastic mentor Ahmed Hadhri, who with his vision, guidance and patience elevated our learning and experience.   Finally, congratulations to Viridia Tech (Greenalytics) for taking home first price and our sincere gratitude to Kumulus, P-Vita, XY Regen, Mruna, Surpluss, Ahya for enriching our journey.

☀️🔋 Last week, Senior Program Manager of Startup Incubation Molly Crete visited the pilot site of portfolio company, Mirai Solar, located at South Coast Research and Extension Center. The pilot aims to demonstrate how the retractable Mirai Screen, paired with battery storage and screen control, can serve as a self-standing off-grid agricultural site. As Founder & CEO, Michael Salvador shares, "If it weren't for LACI, this pilot would not be possible!" We are excited to announce the launch of an innovative agrivoltaics system at the South Coast Research and Extension Center (SCREC) in Irvine. The system has been designed by Mirai Solar and Novavert GmbH & Co. KG in partnership with the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI), SCREC and the Community Power Collaborative. The system features 10kW of the retractable Mirai Screen paired with battery storage and screen control, forming a self-standing off-grid agricultural site. The setup will be used to grow crops under controlled light conditions with the goal of optimizing energy and crop yield. 🍇☀️🌿 Last month, the VitiCULT PV prototype was presented to the public at the Hochschule Geisenheim University. Over 50 interested participants from research and viticulture industry attended. VitiCULT is a mobile PV system designed and constructed by #sbpsonne with the hardware by Novavert GmbH & Co. KG and Mirai Solar to ensure easy setup and flexibility on the vineyards. Commissioned in June 2024, the system provides protection for young vine plants, promotes faster growth and reduces the risk of frost damage. In collaboration with sbp sonne in the framework of the VitiCULT PV-mobil pilot project, we delivered a foldable, retractable, energy-generating shade screen, Mirai Screen, that protects vineyards while providing sustainable electricity. This agrivoltaics pilot installation will demonstrate the resilience and reliability of the Mirai Screen while monitoring the energy-saving performance over the lifecycle of the plants. At Mirai Solar, we are advancing agrivoltaics with farmer-centered adaptable photovoltaic solutions.
