The case of a North Platte man accused of sexually assaulting a young girl has been bound over to district court.

Lincoln County Court records say 29-year-old Alexander Reed is charged with two counts of 1st-Degree Sexual Assault of a Child.

During a hearing Thursday, Reed waived the right to a preliminary hearing, and his case was then bound over to district court.

Reed’s bond was also reduced to 10% of $250,000.

According to an arrest affidavit, on January 6, 2025, a young girl’s mother reported to police that the child told her Reed had sexually assaulted her on three different occasions in North Platte and once in Omaha.

The affidavit says the young girl confirmed this during a forensic interview the next day.

On January 9, Reed was contacted by authorities to come to the police station.

The affidavit said he agreed to take a polygraph exam, which indicated that Reed showed deception on the questions asked.

According to the affidavit, Reed admitted that sexual contact did occur between him and the victim.

His arraignment date in district court has not yet been set.
