Paychex Review

PROS: Paychex organizes everything to make it easier for the HR team to access the information they needed such as employee details and emergency contacts. The user-interface is perfect! The dashboard allows you to see important resources/links at a glance, saving you a lot of time.

CONS: I'm really satisfied with this software. I don't have a problem with it.

PROS: Paychex offers hassle-free processing of payrolls, taxes, and other related tasks. It definitely improved our operations.

CONS: The health insurance coverage is a bit pricey for small businesses with less than 10 employees like ours. Coverage pricing for larger companies is cheaper, and sadly we can't avail that.

PROS: Why do I love Paychex? There are four reasons: (1) it's cost-effective; (2) awesome customer service; (3) on-boarding new employees is easy-peasy; and (4) smooth payroll processing!

CONS: It currently doesn't have an email notification as a reminder to process payroll fees. I hope it would be an added feature soon.

PROS: I love how user-friendly and accessible this software is! It's easier to maintain employee records because I can access the software anytime, anywhere.

CONS: Filling up the fields is not smart/responsive enough. It doesn't alert you if you're missing something on the date you're entering. You have to figure it out yourself.

PROS: I love Paychex! I love everything about it -- timekeeping, on-boarding, payroll. But my favorite feature is the recently added "document storing." It's really useful for us and definitely improved our experience. Big shout out as well to our account rep, who's been extremely helpful to our team!

CONS: We're a little confused about the 401k program, so we're seeking more support from the Paychex team on this.

PROS: This software is user-friendly. It works well and if there's a little issue, customer support is always quick to assist.

CONS: The only thing not so user-friendly about this app is extracting data to be used for reporting. It isn't that hard, it just takes time. So I think adding a drag-and-drop feature for reporting would be helpful!

PROS: I've been using Paychex for 4 years and I've never had any bad experience with their customer service! They have always been polite and helpful! In terms of the software features, Paychex Flex works awesome when it comes to custom analytics and reports.

CONS: There are some additional fees for some actions (such as voiding checks) that I am not aware of. So some employees were not informed about some deductions until they see it in their records. I wish they could provide a list of all additional fees so that we can inform employees beforehand.

PROS: Paychex helps me become more efficient and effective in performing my tasks. All the information I needed is now neatly organized, all accessible, in one platform. Their customer support is also beyond amazing! Reachable and always willing to help.

CONS: I'm looking forward to a feature where I can download reports in Excel format, and a better COBRA administration platform. I think these are all possible. Paychex never disappoints, since my previous issues about the software were quickly resolved.

PROS: I like that I submit payroll even if I'm outside the office because I can access the app using my PC, tablet, or phone.

CONS: It takes time to learn to navigate the reporting feature.

PROS: The submission of payroll through this software is hassle-free!

CONS: I hope there are a notification and feedback feature.

PROS: Retrieving reports for audit is a breeze in Paychex Flex. Its user-friendly interface makes the experience more optimal.

CONS: I didn't like the recent update because it took away the automated recording of pay grades which I found helpful. It's actually one the features I like from the older versions -- the paygrades adjust whenever a salary is modified.

PROS: Paychex Flex got everything I have ever wished for in a CRM software – it is very easy to use, information is accurate and can be accessed with so much ease, and the updates constantly improve the software. All users of the software in our company are really happy with it and even said it's the best tool they've ever worked with.

CONS: There's nothing to dislike about the system. Everything's great. In fact, it's the best CRM software I have ever encountered and reviewed. There's only one thing I think will make the software even greater – the addition of E-Verify. Hopefully, the developers include it in their next product update.

PROS: What this program has done for me is not only save my time but allow me to spend it my own way. I really appreciated the provided tutorials because it allowed me to learn how to use this program at my own pace, and that has continued on to when I work on payroll or when I am doing employee information management. The icons are easy to view and the software itself is easy to use, and I can easily draw up information that I need. It also allows employees to administer their 401(K) on their own, which frees up a lot of time for me.

CONS: I think my biggest issue with this program is I don't use most of its features. Our company doesn't conduct employee reviews, have a sign-in or sign-out process, we don't track personal leaves, sick leaves, or vacation leaves, and we don't use the feature for time and attendance. It wouldn't be so bad, but we are paying for these features when we really don't have a use for it. I also have an issue with how difficult and detailed the benefits administration feature of this tool is. We've now ended up not using it as well. The user interface could also use some improvement. It's really inconvenient when I have to scroll all the way back to the top just so I can click on the "Save" icon. The interface also doesn't seem very intuitive when I use it with multiple companies. Rather than going to the next employee, what happens when I press the down button is I end up being sent to another company I am also handling. I also think that accounting integration should be better. Currently, I have to manually enter my GL bi-weekly and it really takes up time I could be spending for something else. There was also a bit of a challenge getting used to the new interface, but I think that's more on my end than with the actual software.

PROS: What I like most about this system is its interface. I can easily find the things I needed for work. I also like the personalized follow-up to customers, as well as the ability to customize a report for clients. Generally, this platform makes the process of handling administrative tasks easier. It automates work payments, payroll, etc. We don't have to manually handle the documents and enter data on the computer.

CONS: Sometimes, the billing process takes longer than needed. Despite automating the payroll with the aid of this system, we still encounter some issues. In fact, we recently had a delay in the salary of our staff due to a problem in the payment system. But with the help of the Paychex support, we are able to resolve the concern in no time.

PROS: Paychex (the software and the support team) has been really helpful to our HR management. The software allows us to do a lot of things such as reprinting pay stubs and tax forms, reviewing cash requirements, and early submission of payrolls. The support team is very professional and reliable!

CONS: Paychex updates regularly. This is why the look/design of the interface keeps on changing as well. I don't like it since I have to learn to get used to it again.

PROS: Paychex perfectly complements our team because it responds to our needs. I love how the software made payroll tracking so convenient. Customer support is also a plus point for Paychex!

CONS: Time & attendance sometimes doesn't integrate well with Paychex, so we have to input in manually. Not sure if it's just a glitch, but it needs to be fixed so that we can have a centralized system.

PROS: The best thing about this software is its wide range of simple yet incredible features. I also like the comprehensive, guided digital tour which highlights various areas of the screen and discusses how they function. It is perfect for newbies with questions about the software's dashboard. Above all, I love how this platform makes the process of acquiring information easier and convenient.

CONS: It would be nice and of great help, if the percentage of taxes in Federal and state are displayed and not just the local tax rates. I am also looking forward to having statistics on the payment such as the average taxes paid, the average paycheck amount, etc.

PROS: With Paychex, all employee information is just within reach. From their health benefits to the state of their 401k, to their compensation benefits—everything is consolidated and organized. More importantly, we haven’t had any problem with securing payouts anymore.

CONS: I think that this is a really useful system. I haven’t come across anything to complain about.

PROS: The dashboard is pretty easy to navigate and the layout is clean and simple too. Both me and my team members find Paychex really useful. However, I do recognize that the setup might not appeal to all, so make sure to explore the solution first before implementing it.

CONS: I would prefer to customize my dashboard. There are some available functionalities that only serve to clutter the space. It might be better to have the option to tuck these away in some hidden folder. Better yet, set up a walkthrough on the usage of each of those functionalities so we know how to better integrate them into our processes.

PROS: We use Paychex in our company and, so far, things are working pretty smoothly. Personally, I haven’t had any trouble getting used to the system. It probably helps that it has a clean—not to mention complete—dashboard.

CONS: A lot of users would benefit from a tutorial. There are a dozen features that I’m sure we would be able to maximize if we just know what those commands are for.

PROS: With Paychex, we’ve been able to provide a platform for our employees to check in on their payroll accounts. So far, they have been able to navigate through the interface with ease. All the information that we need is mostly on the dashboard, making it easier for us to retrieve information. This tool really takes the stress away from navigating through more complicated systems.

CONS: Customer service is not the best, to be honest. We ran into some issues with regards to user access, and it took a while for them to fix it. We had to go through so many red tapes and hoops just to get our problem solved.

PROS: I had an incredible experience using Paychex Flex. Even if I only have a small account, the team still go out of their way to make me feel that I'm a valued customer. They make sure all my issues are solved.

CONS: Paychex Flex team never fail to resolve my concerns so I cannot think of any drawback of using it.

PROS: I like the ease of accessing the payroll information as well as the Liability and Workers Comp Insurance data. I can even download the latter information, making it easier to generate and send quarterly reports to the insurance company.

CONS: Customizing biweekly reports is quite challenging. I still cannot figure out what to do so I just run the whole report and print the needed pages.

PROS: Did not find any!! The entire two years worth of payroll that I paid them to provide was terrible!!

CONS: Terrible payroll services!! Suffered with Paychex for 2 years before I finally got smart. When I did leave they continued running payroll (without me reporting any hours). Severing ties with Paychex was just as painful as the 2 years of crappy service I received. They have an unbelievable turnover rate with their employees which is probably part of the problem - no consistency whatsoever. When I called to see when the taxes that they withheld would be credited back so that I could pay them they said they didn't know! Hmmmmm, really? The only thing you get paid to do is know that information. Should have fired them a very long time ago!! Do yourself a favor and use someone else - really anyone else would be better than Paychex.
