On Tuesday, #STRIKFORNATO Deputy Commander, Rear Adm. Craig Wood CBE, had the honour of meeting with Ukraine’s ambassador to Portugal, Her Excellency, Maryna Mykhailenko 🇺🇦. Rear Adm. Wood provided an overview of our mission to integrate high-end maritime strike and defence capabilities to the Alliance, and pledged his commitment to maintaining our enduring partnership with the Ukrainian military.

In the frame of #NATO enhanced Vigilance Activity #NeptuneStrike 2024-2, Royal Danish Navy Mine Divers 🤿 trained carrying out explosive ordnance disposal in the Danish Straits. Keeping sea 🌊 lines of communication open and assure the freedom of navigation in international waters is one of the objectives of NEST. El Destacamento Paznic participa en las actividades de vigilancia reforzada Neptune Strike 24-2 en Rumanía. Los aviones F-18 del Destacamento Aéreo Táctico (DAT) Paznic, desplegado en la misión de vigilancia aérea en el flanco este de la OTAN en Rumanía, participan en ejercicios en el marco de la actividad de vigilancia reforzada Neptune Strike (NEST 24-2). En este contexto el DAT Paznic participa en tres actividades multidominio: La primera de ellas consiste en combates aire-aire con apoyo terrestre de las baterías antiaéreas Mistral francesas desplegadas en la zona y la participación de una aeronave Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) de la Royal Air Force (RAF). La segunda actividad multidominio se realiza junto con aeronaves F-35 de la Marina Militare Italiana y las aeronaves Rafale de la Hellenic Air Force (HAF), apoyadas por una MRTT del Armée de l’air et de l’espace para el reabastecimiento aéreo de combustible y el sistema de artillería antiaérea MAMBA francés desplegado en Capu Midia, en Rumanía, a orillas del mar Negro. La tercera actividad contará con la participación de F-18 de los United States Marine Corps, un avión de reabastecimiento aéreo estadounidense y el apoyo en tierra del sistema de artillería antiaérea MAMBA francés. Con todo, se ponen a prueba las capacidades de la alianza para trabajar en operaciones conjuntas y multidominio, integrar las fuerzas aliadas y apoyar de forma directa la estrategia de disuasión y defensa aliada en el flanco este. Ejercicio Neptune Strike 24-2 El Neptune Strike 2024 demuestra la compleja integración de las capacidades conjuntas de ataque marítimo de alto nivel. La OTAN toma el control operativo de múltiples portaaviones y grupos de ataque expedicionarios en apoyo de la disuasión y defensa de la alianza. En esta edición, el evento operativo está liderado por las Fuerzas Navales de Ataque y Apoyo de la OTAN (STRIKFORNATO | Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO), ubicadas en Oeiras (Portugal), y tendrá lugar del 24 al 31 de octubre de 2024. En total unos 20 buques de superficie y submarinos, Fuerzas Especiales y numerosas aeronaves participan en este ejercicio con unos 15 000 efectivos de apoyo. NATO's Neptune Strike 24-2 is underway. The vigilance activity demonstrates the complex integration of joint high-end maritime strike capabilities. Multiple aircraft carriers and expeditionary strike groups including the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group / 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group, HMS Prince of Wales and her escorts, TCG Anadolu and her Marine battalion, and ITS Cavour and her escorts are operating in the activity under NATO authority in support of #deterrence and #defense of the Alliance.
