To learn how snow flows under your free feet. To master balance. To jam into powder. The simple story of a Japanese movement called Yukiita. The movement is about more than the sport of snowboarding. It is about how we interact with the world, and communicate with our environment. It is about enjoying nature's bounty, but not consuming nature. It is about shredding, yes, but shredding in harmony. In a world crazy with digital, this 8mm treatment distinguishes Japanese snowboarding from its overseas cousins, and places the Japanese approach in its natural context of "original life & style." Digital shooting is just recording. Analog shooting makes memories, images burning into the human brain as they burn into the film. Human memory cannot be counted in megabytes and gigabytes. Human memory cannot be discarded with a single click or moved to the trashcan. FREE FOOT JAM aims to add to your worldview, not overwrite it. Written by Kenneth Pechter & Hiroaki Yonekura See less
