Made up like a sexy manga girl, she gets donations online by doing small favors like wishing people good luck and singing songs for her mostly male viewers. Offscreen her life is a mess. She is the only caregiver of her mother who suffers from dementia and acts like a child. Her mother's condition makes it impossible for Mei-Ying to hold a real job. Her boyfriend can no longer stand the situation. One day Mei-Ying forgets to lock the door and her mother wanders off. Mei-Ying receives a call that her mother is on Green Island, where she was taken in by kind Ah-Tsan, a lighthouse keeper. Following her there, Mei-Ying finally gets out of her caged life. During their brief stay, they go in the sea, breathe clean air, and behold the stars in the night sky. (Ironically, Green Island was where political prisoners were jailed during Martial Law.) Mei-Ying and Ah-Tsan become close. Unlike the others, Ah-Tsan has no requests for Mei-Ying except for her to be happy. Written by
