In a landscape of sand dunes and cactus, Hinduism and Islam had been coexisting in peace for more than three centuries, in mingling their gods. In this area, Hindus also venerate Allah, as Po Alwah, and Moslems worship Po Nagar, the great goddess-mother who founded the Cham society. Other exception, the Champa is a matriarchal society.
