In the 4 workshops there were various facilitators and the community was beyond magnetic. In the last session we were encouraged for an open mic opportunity. However, I was unable to make that due to another commitment. Later on in the day I reflected on the work we did and it triggered me to look at my earlier work in my journals. I picked up this piece from when I was 12 and wanted to recreate it. To challenge myself in my Poetry/ Spoken word and writing journey. I must admit that it felt quite alien being in my 30's having to get to replicate a voice which feels like no longer mine. I battle to this day on the same topics however, have a better clarity and understanding. I want to thank Tisha Chuta for helping me film and guide this piece.
