The Italian offensive is approaching, which is ...See moreThe film is based on a true story described by partisan doctor Aleksandar Gala in his book about the tragedy of the wounded in the partisan hospital Ogenjca during the Second World War. The Italian offensive is approaching, which is supposed to completely destroy the partisan movement. The partisan doctor Dr. Gala tries to save the wounded by hiding them in a nearby cave Ogenjca. A 20-year-old trained nurse with the partisan name Mimica stays in the cave with the wounded. One of the wounded behaves strangely and eventually leaves the cave and betrays them. To avoid being captured and tortured by the Italian soldiers, they agree in the cave that Mimica should shoot them. She does so and kills herself with the last shot. Three survive anyway. The Italians capture them and they narrowly escape execution when they are taken to a hospital in Ljubljana and from there to various concentration camps in Italy, where they await Italy's surrender.
