Daniel Hunt appears to be a normal 22-year-old but his "touch of death" is anything but normal. As a reminder, marked by death, he was given the name Daniel Edgar Alan Theodore Hunt and his journey to find the meaning of life quickly becomes finding the meaning of death. With a lackluster outlook on life, his existence is explored with his therapist Dr. Lacy. But as much as he enjoys this refuge his search for meaning falls short. Daniel soon falls in love with free spirited Liza who holds the key to his purpose. Fearing for her safety Daniel struggles to stay away, but as fate would have it, Liza's already been touched by death; cancer.
