Sam a provincial young boy struggles to keeps his feelings for her at bay but her constant rejection towards his advances wears him down. Fueled by overwhelming frustration, his boyish innocence turns to obsession. The story unravels on the coast. Beautiful, eerie shots of the snow unrelentingly whipping across the frozen bay are interwoven throughout the film which serve as a metaphor for Sam's hardening soul leading and Katie's struggle to find her own truth.
