Sobre nosotros
Based in Puerto Rico, PSI’s mission is to foster economic mobility through the creation of employment opportunities and comprehensive training programs, and by ensuring access to education for children, as well as promoting health and wellness for families in need. Our innovative approach combines project support, strategic initiatives, partnerships, and a novel approach to philanthropic investment, making a tangible difference in communities and advancing our vision of a more equitable society. PSI employs a multi-faceted approach to achieve this mission: As a Social Incubator, we focus on addressing poverty via programs readily available and housed at our Oasis facility. As a Capital Manager, we attract philanthropic dollars for investment rather than donation, ensuring both a return on investment and a successful impact for communities, focusing on investors addressing child poverty. Through our public policy arm, we exert influence with policy makers in the fight against poverty. Impact to Date Over its tenure, PSI has evolved into the largest anti-poverty movement in Puerto Rico, annually impacting over 15,000 children and 3,000 low-income adults. PSI is at the forefront of addressing not only the immediate effects of poverty but also its long-term implications, exacerbated by natural disasters and economic challenges. Key Programs and Partnerships PSI's network includes notable organizations such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico, the Youth Development Institute, Vimenti, and Project Makers. These affiliations underscore our comprehensive approach to socio-economic mobility for vulnerable families. PSI is a catalyst for change in Puerto Rico, embodying a movement that will tackle child and family poverty at scale through social innovation, quality education, advocacy, economic development, and impact investing. By focusing on children and families PSI not only impacts the present but secures a more prosperous future for Puerto Rico.

TGIF, Agents of Impact! Investing with intentionality. Agents of Impact move markets. Fed up with the pace of #PuertoRico's disaster recovery, Eduardo Carrera of Platform for Social Impact is putting in place the building blocks to bring in private capital alongside public funding for the island’s social infrastructure. That means credit enhancement, first-loss capital, bridge loans and VC investments in projects that center children and youths, as Dennis Price reported for the third edition of "ImpactAlpha Latin America" this week. “If we’re not making an effort to move that capital with intentionality, we’re wasting precious time,” Carrera said in San Juan last month. Zoila Jennings reports on how the RWJF is trying to change how capital flows through communities, while Rochelle Witharana, CPA explains The California Wellness Foundation’s focus on diversity in its funds management to advance health equity and racial justice. The essays are part of ImpactAlpha’s series with Mission Investors Exchange ahead of next week’s Los Angeles confab of philanthropic asset owners that are seeking to reshape capital markets as well as align their own resources. Family offices in #LatinAmerica are leading the region’s growing marketplace for impact investing, according to Latimpacto’s Manuela Jiménez López. In #Africa, local institutional investors are likewise coming to realize long-term value of steering capital towards human and green infrastructure, reports Lucy Ngige. Ahead of next week’s Milken Institute's Global Conference, Milken’s 10,000 Communities Initiative, unveiled market-making tools to ease the deployment of capital to community climate infrastructure projects unleashed by the Inflation Reduction Act, as Rachel Reilly reported. The rebound in blended finance suggests an appetite for stacked capital to de-risk high-impact deals and build ecosystems, as Amy Cortese reports. And tech giants like Apple and Microsoft are not only investing in nature-based carbon offset projects, they’re pushing to improve the integrity of carbon credits, reports forest veteran Shaun Paul. That is helping raise prices for carbon, enabling more high-quality projects. Making markets work, for people and the planet, is what Agents of Impact do. https://lnkd.in/gsyqBTcY

Puerto Rico's journey with traditional investments has been marked by fleeting impacts. But there's a shift happening – toward impact investing. It's not just about financial gains; it's about driving positive social and environmental change. At the Summit, luminaries like Joan Larrea, Jack Gutt, Michael Blake, Max Trujillo, and the JFF team -among others- discussed how impact investing can reshape Puerto Rico's economic landscape.
