As a middle-aged white woman, I will never forget the first time I heard James Baldwin on Netflix's” I Am Not Your Negro.” I had read Baldwin but never listened to his voice. I can’t find the words to explain how this classy, brilliant, individual, and queer individual had the soul of a mighty Lion. I burst into tears. For the first time, I felt this magnificent man who held no hatred as a part of my soul. It's not color, religion, or sexual preference it's the soul of the vessel. Baldwin was about love, and he is more relevant today.

I’ve dug into multiple episodes and really enjoy how the host engages with some many different voices around media and culture - all while telling James Baldwin’s incredible story. Such a great listen.

Well produced. Thought provoking. Intellectually stimulating. Creatively inspiring. The first episode alone provided insights that I hadn’t thought of before regarding Baldwin and the world he lived in and created.
