Great storytelling but those ads…

Love the podcast. Breezed through it in a few days. However, those ads throughout were so jarring. It’s weird to be listening to a heavy story and then be interrupted by 3 of the loudest, out of pocket ads. Stuff for like McDonald’s or some shopping thing. It seemed really tone deaf to me. Obviously they had to include ads but I think it could have been done more tasteful, maybe even saying “we’ll be right back” and then breaking to ads.

This podcast is so beautifully written. The most incredible thing about it to me, though, is the approach. It would be far too easy to just tell the story as if Brent were just a monster. Yet, we get to hear all sides, as much as possible. This is TRUE journalism. The humanity of the story is the main focus. We need more stories with this approach!
